One thing you should always pack is some 50/50 cord or something to pull everything up instead of the struggle you had.

Cord is good for more things than pulling things up: it can be used for temporarily repairing things, building things and tying things to the kayak, as well as attaching the kayak to a tree or something.

As others stated, some rope would be very handy (para cord) not only in this video but others you have posted. Please be safe my man, as the more you do these type of camps the more confident you become. That is when mistakes can happen. I enjoy your videos and love that you are willing to go the extra mile to get something done in a camp, but your health is your wealth brother. You need a step 2 after that process of getting up on top of the little island.
@WesWherever

Thanks, rope is definitely invaluable! I will try to always tread carefully and not underestimate the dangers, your comment really reminded me of that again. And definitely, a step 2 was thoroughly enjoyed after that struggle 😉

I’ve just stumbled across your channel, great stuff. Exactly the sort of thing I love doing. Looking forward to watching your future adventures Wes. Cheers Kevan

Thanks Kevan, sounds fun combining ham radio & kayaking! Not quite the same, but I do always carry a marine radio when kayaking to contact the coast guard in the event of an emergency. Glad you are enjoying the content… I’m trying to provide some value & positivity, so I’m happy people like you are finding the vids. Cheers!
Love the videos! As a suggestion, invest in the solo stove mesa or mesa xl. I have both stoves and they both are great. Mesa xl gives you more room to feed your fire and fairly small!

I enjoy your what you do, Wes, just one thing, PLEASE don't use the thumbnails with the ridiculous Giant Red Arrow. Be original, please. Having a Big Arrow pointing to literally the only thing in the thumbnail doesn't add anything to the work you've done. It actually takes away from otherwise great picture.
@WesWherever
7 күн бұрын
I definitely hear ya, but sadly the thumbnails just don't perform as well without some kind of eye-catching feature. In this one it would otherwise just be some random island, but I'm using the arrow to point specifically at me & my campsite's location on the island. But yes I do agree with you for the most part, but I have to do what performs well - it's a compromise for sure
