When it comes to searching out a French press ideal for camping our outdoors, we’re looking for a press that’s easy to use, makes good coffee, retains heat well, and cleans up easily. For the best quality coffee, it’s better to transfer your French press coffee to a thermos after brewing to get it off the grounds, but that’s more work than we’re willing to put in when in the great outdoors. A good outdoor use French press needs to be able to hold onto the heat so your second cup of coffee is satisfying on a cold morning. We also keep an eye on the price tags to find the coffee makers that deliver a good value.
To get the most of your coffee while camping, you should do some prep work at home to make it easier. Grind your coffee at home and pre-portion it into containers. This way you can just dump a portion of coffee into the pot with no need to measure on the spot. One-cup plastic containers are best for this, since they’re easy to pour and give you a container for storing leftovers. Plastic bags are good for minimizing packing space, but are harder to pour.

Bought my Stanley 48 ounce press on sale, 25% off. Love it. Only 2 hours holding for ‘coffee’ hot temp, otherwise warm beyond that for another 45 minutes. Preheat press with 48 ounces of hottest hot tap water, emptying out right before adding your near-boil coffee water & grounds.

Y'all missed the G S I 32 oz press. Really thick plastic, so it won't break, plus holds heat longer than metal. The best part is that the plunger is one piece. Nothing to lose or misassemble.

Vacuum insulated stainless steel presses like these are better and no plastic touching the coffee.
