Have a family thing in Arizona for a week so thought I might as well make a whole trip of it. picked up a new truck and made the drive down there to do some truck camping and backpacking in the SW USA while I was down there

Man it’s so sick I remember in a video a couple years back you sat there with your journal next to the campfire talking about your goals in life and where you’re thinking about taking this channel. Amazing to witness you making it happen.

Yoo that's so awesome to hear!! Great work congratulations on the 12 weeks that's huge
Awesome 3rd gen Xander! make sure to change the lower ball joint if they havent been replaced. Those always gives up on the 3rd gen 4 runner. for your safety, id replace em right away with OEM ones. cheers!
I couldn't stop smiling as you entered Arizona, because I knew you would soon see such indescribably beautiful scenery! Suddenly the sky becomes bigger than you ever could imagine, miles upon miles with nary an electric wire in sight, and the crazy boulders that had to be stacked like marbles by God ~ there's no obvious reason they landed there! I hope Max can stay with you on this awesome journey!! But beware all those snattlerakes! Yikes!
Man you’re one brave soul staying in New Mexico in a place like that. As someone who’s moved far away from NM I’m glad you enjoyed the scenery because that’s the only thing I miss.

Got Doug DeMuro vibes when you were showing us the quirks and features of your 4-Runner 😂. Awesome video as always, although it was a little strange not seeing you in the wilderness, chopping wood and building awesome fires 🙌
I'll admit that I put off watching this for a while. I was worried about the change of direction from canoeing and "normal" camping. However, I was totally wrong, and I all of a sudden have this weird urge to drive my truck all the way to Mexico! You've inspired so many people to explore the outdoors. Keep doing what you're doing!
I aspire to live a life like yours Xander. It is truly inspiring to see someone live the life that you have created, especially in this day and age. Keep going and best of luck from Toronto!
I had a 97 4runner with the small 2.7L engine, that thing was a tank and here in Montreal people would avoid snow banks and I'd look for them to ram into and see them explode with that steel bumper. I'd spend some money to get a proper inspection and change out parts.. this truck will be loyal to you, heck at 250k km it's barely broken in ;) - hope you have a blast down south.
I can not tell you how much you and what you do, mean to me. You & Max are remarkable young men who do remarkable things and do so with class, dignity and with a whole Mess 'O Fun! Keep On Truckin' brother. You make this 64 year old Canadian boy from Montreal, proud!
Your videos help make me value nature so much more. I’ve been struggling with staying sober recently and your videos make me want to put the bottle down and make a much needed change. I admire what you’ve overcome. Thank you for continuing to make these videos. I struggle doing things alone, snd your videos make me feel more comfortable with genuinely getting to know myself and travel. I live in a very small town in west Tennessee, it’s hard to find motivation, but your channel helps a lot with that. Thank you for your uploads, I hope they cope with others as much as they have with me.

we love you Xander! Thank you for your time and effort.
I’ve been waiting for this trip for forever! Already had me dying at the ignition 😂 Gonna be a great one! Thanks Xander! 🔥
I've spent a lot of time living in 4runners, they're amazing. I had a 3rd gen too, now I've got a 4th gen V8 for towing. You've got a great vehicle. The rear bumper might have been left off to make the departure angle match the approach angle, which can be an issue for serious off road driving, that and the bumper definitely rusted right off. Try removing the front passenger seat completely, folding down the rear seat backs, and removing the rear seat cushions. Put a sheet of plywood straight on the floor with no frame, and fill the spaces underneath it with gear. Then you can sit up in bed without hitting your head, and lean back on the dash with some pillows, you'll love it. It's much more spacious that way with no raised bed or front seat.

Indeed and agree especially with a long stay in the US. Make it comfortable and utilize the space, not tight and cramp.
Awesome trip xander scenic pics are stunning and Toyota are great cars be safe and take care have a great time 👍👌🔥🔥❤️🙏
I'm only a couple minutes in but I just wanted to say that the ambient music really adds to the edit so much! Keep up the good work Xander. Sending love from Australia man!
That's an awesome 4runner man!! Looks like it's in fantastic condition rust-wise for the age. I'm from Winnipeg and recently purchased an 07 4x4 ford ranger I'm planning on turning into an overlanding rig so this series is pretty great timing! I'll be looking forward to the rest of the episodes! PS. - When it comes to checking tread life on off road tires see if you can find something called a "tread wear bar" somewhere on the tire tread. Its basically a little bar of rubber deep in the tread and once the rest of the tread is even with this bar it means they're toast. Might help googling tread wear bar to see exactly what I'm talking about. PSS. - My ranger is also black and I highly recommend you get yourself some black touch up paint and whenever u get rock chips along the lower panels just fill em in with a little bit of paint in order to prevent them turning into rust spots!
I know this is different content than usual but personally loved it! Felt like I was on the journey with you brother, I’d also like to say I really admire how you take things on the chin and don’t get too stressed out like having to leave the USA then go back! That would put a downer on my whole life because it had messed up my plans, respect!
Awesome video, I loved the way you did this similar style as the rest of your videos but a little bit differently. They are just so relaxing to watch. Love your videos Xander keep it up!
Love your truck. Love your humbleness. You have wonderful parents to have raised you and your siblings to be so appreciative about life. Be careful and enjoy your trip. Thanks for sharing.🐞🙏🙏🙏🙏🐞
This video feels like rain during a drought! So grateful for this episode 🙏
Always a good day when Xander uploads!

This is going to be an adventure like we've not seen before - glad to be along for the ride!
Thankfully we discovered Northern Scavengers during your absence (AMAZING!). But we're more than ready for some Xander videos!
Reminds me of my late fathers first car I have memory of, just yours is a few years newer. Good memories with the vehicle. Had the same green lighting in the interior, sounded like what might happen if a tank and a tractor had a child after the exhaust had broke off.
a 1998 forerunner doing an epic drive after all these years. incredible!
This is so cool Xander! Really excited to follow your trip in the States! 😃 Love the 4Runner btw 🙌🏼
Xander's one-of-a-kind spirit continues to color the world of travel with his idiosyncratic charm. May your journey be filled with wisdom and a touch of whimsy as you conquer the ever-diverse world that awaits you!
I did this trip last April for 21 days starting in Burlington On. Started off snowboarding in Colorado then mountain biking in Utah and Arizona. Sedona is magical to say the least.
I’m thankful to be an American because I get to explore a vast landscape. I want to see you learn how to surf! I’m from Michigan and I’ve been surfing the Great Lake my whole life. It would be amazing to see you learn to surf and camp in remote spots.
Been looking forward to this for so long! 🇬🇧
3rd gen's are timeless, I've owned a 2000 and currently own a 98. These trucks will outlive us all 💯
I really appreciate the level of chill you bring to your videos. I wish i had the resources to do the kind of stuff you do

Ahhhh the Ambassador bridge! You went right through my hometown of Detroit! We love our fellow Canadian brothers! Great video Xander!
Boa noite Xander!!! Mais uma vivência top, parabéns malucoooooo!!!!
Please don’t stop making content. Pure. Simple. Funny - thats true!! God bless you on a road!!!
Super great message from you and lesson from your Dad about fear. All the best Xander!
Thank you Xander. Your idea of confronting fears helped me. I hope we meet someday! Love the 4runner.
So stoked about this video series, Xander. In true Newfoundland fashion I've been looking at flurries, drizzle, rain, fog, and overcast skies for the whole of April -- it's been getting me down, honestly. This video helped transmute my wanderlust into motivation to get back out regardless of the weather. Thanks for all you do.
This is so awesome! The scenery, your truck enhancements (Macgiver style) and your contagious excitement make for a winner video. Thanks for sharing, Xander. You're the best thing on KZread!
I love this kind of stuff, genuine excitement is gold
you are my comfort watching, never stop please and thanks
I did a similar trip last year from New Brunswick, Canada to California and back. Spent 4 months on the road and fell in love with the southwest. Really the best place in North America to live in your car in my opinion. AZ, NM, CA, UT- all amazing places that id love to go back to one day.
Hands down best key I've ever seen 😂
This is new and excited🙌🏻 Hope you enjoy your trip!
Hello Xander! So glad you made it safely. Thank you for taking us along. The scenery on this trip is gorgeous! Looking forward to where you take us!
Can't wait for the rest of the new episodes also really like the new car!
Absolutely awesome seeing your new video and can't wait for the next installment. Please keep making videos cause they're uplifting and means a lot to those of us that can't do it. Big hug, stay safe. ❤❤ May God always protect and guide you.

Nice to See you back xander missed your adventures! Helps keep me going till the vacations and doing my own hope you had a nice time on the road and in Amerika. Your Attitude is simply the best and your positivity in and fun in these Videos is warming. Lots of best wishes!
You are so inspiring Xander! Can't wait to see more of your trip to the Southwest.
your videos make me feel happy. I get to live some of my own adventure goals/dreams through you. Please never stop, your adventures become my mine too!
Welcome to Az! I’ve been watching for over 2 years and I camp out through your videos. I’ve never been camping. Too busy but I’ve backpacked through Europe. From Amsterdam to Barcelona and back up to Paris. Thank you for all the great videos. May you always be blessed. 🤙🏼
Nice to be on another adventure with ya buddy! Looking forward to this! Peace! 🙂
Really appreciated your comments about dealing with fear. Profound and very true!
Xander you are honestly my favourite KZreadr, nothing excites me more than see you have posted. What you said about fear is so true something I really need implement in my life. Thank you for making such great content
Hey Xander! Super excited for this trip as I’m from the southwest and have loved watching your content throughout the past 2 years! You actually inspired me to start my own solo trips and so I’m currently traveling the western US living out of my truck! Thank you so much for your content and the confidence you’ve given me to do the same thing! Just crossed the California border and can’t be more excited!
Speed limit 75 miles per hour, how nice. Where ever it is, if you're in it we will watch it. I'm glad the brake issue worked out as well as it did. You covered a lot of ground in a short time. Good video, as always. Pax.
I watched a lot of camping channels but ur simply the best one.
Much different content than usual, but this is really enjoyable to watch! It's refreshing to see an older car, park and camp where you can vs $100k truck builds and camping in designated areas. Plus it still has your signature style!
Bro your creativity is fucking unmatched. It’s actually insane going from your early stuff to now and seeing the growth while never losing the pureness we all enjoy. You’re a legend, beautician, all of the above haha keep killin it
That's great !! The new truck looks sick !! We love watching you man glad you're back.💪💥💥
Awesome Xander !! Quite A Drive. Can’t Wait To Watch The Whole Series.
Thanks for documenting this trip and putting it out there for us to enjoy. I have a 2000 4Runner that I use as a daily driver, and I have it well outfitted for camping excursions. I few years back, my wife and I drove it from Florida, through the Appalachian Mountains, up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Great memories! I hope the 4Runner treats you well and I admire your willingness to take a "new" car on such a long journey.
Was super awesome seeing you go through New Mexico! Born and Raised in Abq, NM but now currently living in Ontario! New Mexico is such a BEAUTIFUL STATE and amazing places to camp and sight-see!! Keep up the awesome content Xander! Much love!
This is so awesome. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
What an awesome start to this journey. Glad you're taking us with you man!
Awesome as always Xander, really enjoy your trips, always so fun...
Awesome Xander! Thank you! Can’t wait to see your adventures! 👍🏼

Your videos are so entertaining 😊. Thank you for continuing to share your adventures.
About time you showed back up!! Been waiting and waiting... However always worth it! Way cool that you're doing this. Reminds me of me and I'm sure lots of others too. Here's to all the road trippers...Past, Present & Furture. Have fun man!
Thanks for the great video, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip!
Your videos are extremely relaxing, as a stressed uni student they’ve definitely helped me a lot. Please don’t stop and keep on doing the amazing stuff that you do :)
Just now starting your trip videos, I'm loving them so far! I don't mind waiting for stuff like this😁 thanks for showing all of these beautiful places! Keep up the amazing work👍
It was definitely cool recognizing the scenery in Oklahoma/Texas/NM. I’ve driven that route myself. New Mexico is hauntingly beautiful.
Yesss!! the man, the myth, the LEGEND RETURNS! enjoy America man✌️ Love the old 4runner too!
I love the part with your dad and how he was helped make you over come your fears to be the smart leveled-headed man you are today! GOD bless all Fathers out there and God bless Xander😊 Thanks for your Content brother
love you Xander, this is so relaxing
Awesome adventure Xander! Thanks for taking us on your road trip and sharing your experience. Those older generation 4Runners were built to last.
I thought that was an awesome roadtrip without the canoe or sled or snowshoe....very beautifully presented...thank you much
He's back baby!!! I've been looking forward to this trip! Cheers
Inspiring as always Z - Can't wait for the next one..
