My favourite spot in Newtown
Indeed very nice.
Visiting this place soon. I love visiting cemeteries too.
Eliza Donnithorne was the lady who reputedly inspired Miss Haversham. Eliza lived nearby and, when she was jilted on her wedding day, locked herself away in her wedding gown for the rest of her life. One of Charles Dickens's sons was in Sydney at the time, and presumably wrote about her while his father was writing Great Expectations.
I go there often.
