Hi Daman. You are cornering the market with these videos and I think back to the days when much of the stuff we see in your videos being picked up would have been classed as building waste (timber, aluminium sheeting, pallets, etc) and would have been rejected. Otto bins were introduced in the 1960's as metal garbage containers and later as wheelie bins. Bins left kerbside and facing the wheels to the street were rejected. Lids that could not close flat, that bin was rejected. Massive add campaigns on TV and newspapers to explain how to use and place your bin on the kerbside. "Treat Otto with respect and don't overfeed him and he won't throw up on the lawn" was a slogan I remember but was short-lived because people were sickened by the thought of a vomiting Otto. Memories are good Daman so keep creating them in your videos.

Thanks for all that information John. Yeh they were very strict back in the day, but maybe with new machinery I don’t think it’s a concern anymore, thanks John!

How often do these curbside pickups occur? I live in New Zealand and I am not aware this occurs anywhere. Needless to say, flytipping is a real problem. So the ratepayer ends up paying anyway.

You can get 4 free clean ups a year, that go into your normal rates. The truck comes around every week to look for booked piles.
