Cammy is so much fun to play, still can't do tk divekick for shit though

I would always be happy with a DLC character being mid tier of they are cool as hell. AKI is a pretty damn cool character for me, I just wish she had a weeee bit more defence and some slightly better normals so it didn't feel so anaemic at times. Anybody can love a character who isn't good, you just don't trust them to win competitive environments is all.

3:04 I felt this chatter's comment pretty deeply. LOL. Compared to the characters I've already dumped a lot of time in, just dabbling with Cammy, it really does feel this way.

The funniest thing about that bit of salt is that she's consistently been one of the stronger, if not strongest, _Street Fighter_ characters since like at least 2000.

One of my favorite things about Cammy is that just about everything can link into 5LK, and 5LK leads to a knockdown with oki. Cammy consistently gets an ender and oki from just about any touch, even without Drive, and that consistency is something I find myself missing anytime I pick someone else.

Can anyone tell me what inputs he's doing for instant dive kick? They look different than what I've normally seen. Any tips on doing this more consistently would be appreciated too

The problem with DLC characters is that everyone wants to be hype for them, but the only way for everyone to be hype for them is for them to be OP. Obviously the majority of people are not gonna be interested in playing a new character when they already have a main they like. DLC characters should add variety to the roster, not just be a hype machine for people bored with the game. As long as the DLC character isn't trash and we see a couple people playing them in tournaments then I think they did a good job

Yeah, I've realized that's the trap of DLC characters ever since the messy "DLC" of _MvC3_ where both Shuma and especially Jill were middling. Going the "make them OP then nerf later" direction is even worse overall since just ends up coming off as manipulative & scummy and is likely to directly turn at least people off the game. This especially nerfs since usually take a while even for the most egregiously overpowered characters. _Tekken 7_ and _SFV_ and _DB FighterZ_ are just some of the most recent and egregious examples of how that fails and causes ill-will.

Is that a universal rule for dive kicks? So say, Jamie and Juri also want to attack the bottom of the hit box?

Yeah the lower (later) you hit the faster you get to recover, resulting in better frame advantage!

Interestingly it also applies to Chun’s HK in the air. Not a dive kick but if you hit people on the legs or feet it gives you way more advantage.

for footsies it depends on what character you're playing, watch matches of your character against cammy. for all the belligerent shit: practice parrying heavy knuckle, practice jabbing hooligan, and be conservative in your pressure bc cammy players love to mash on defense or fish for free punish counter dive kicks. if they're spamming dive kick just taking a good walk forward or back can be enough to make it punishable or whiff, get used to the spacing and try to mess up their spacing

There's no way to make DLC characters who came out strong enough to change the meta on day 1 release without being broken like Leroy. It's better to make DLC characters who pretty decent at mid-mid high tier and then gradually buff them based on community feedbacks and the meta.

@@Kolos1001 Okay, in SF 6 case, you got what you want. The pros claimed Rashid was weak in the first month he released and everyone agreed (i disagreed with their opinions tho). But fast forward to last month, Gachikun won CPT offline premier with him and suddenly the pros put Rashid in top tier lol. Rashid is changing the meta without being broken like Leroy. As for AKI, same case with the pros claim she's weak af / bottom tier. But someone already reach top 64 CPT offline premier with her. Give it more time and i think she will change the meta too. Also, i bet Akuma will change the meta on day 1 and a lot of shotos players gonna change their main to him.
