I just re-watched this video and wanted to again applaud you for producing a video which actually matters, and which enriches people's lives. Not everybody can appreciate a philosophical perspective, but in this case, I think your insights are critical for anybody who is planning to walk the Camino, or wants to make walking a spiritual discipline in their life. Great job and happy traveling!

Beautifully said. I walk every morning... of course, it is not like doing the Camino but it always grounds me to my surroundings and how I fit into the day. It allows me to compose entire thoughts... and helps with circulation. Once again, a lovely video essay. Cheers!

Beautiful. You have such a wonderful way of articulating your experiences. So much of what you have said are thoughts that have occurred to me also, the Caminio is something special and I have not been able to put "why" it is into thoughts and even less, into words. So much happened and I guess I was more receptive to it because I had made getting back in touch with my five senses the top task of my walk. I found the comradeship and willingness of people from around the world to help each other humbling and I am forever grateful for that experience. When I got home I was thinking about how I could make something that would show that pilgrimage experience sort of like on a time line type of linear banner, but what I saw in my mind was a tapestry were I was a thread weaving my way in the Universal fabric and all the people I met were other threads that came, intertwined with mine for a while and then moved off in their own space and time. Some I ran into again and some not. I then realised that this is really a metaphor for my life from the moment I arrived until my last day on this wonderful planet. Thanks again.

Thank you for this comment! II agree with being receptive to it, I think I felt the same way. Sometimes the feeling we can't put into words are the strongest ones we experience and maybe there is no need of walking about them at all!

Excellent video, and the points about tracing back to what humans were doing 200,000 years ago are absolutely correct - in many cases walking 20 miles for food, water or shelter. Walking is part of our heritage, baked into our DNA. I am looking forward to my first Camino next month (Inglés from Ferrol). Best wishes to you.

For me the Camino or Caminho (I did the Portuguese Caminho in two parts, first in March/2020, that I had to stop due to the pandemic, and later in September/2021) is everything you said, but specially the possibility for you to stay with yourself (wouldn’t that be an excellent company ?!?!); even though surrounded by other pilgrims, you are always with yourself and your thoughts. And for me was a great experience. And I continued the Camino/Caminho till Muxia and Finisterre, which gave me the sense that those were not the end of the Camino/Caminho, but the beginning!

I saw your video today, and I loved your comments. I am 69, and just finished in Santiago a month ago. Your thoughts spoke to me and reflect so much my own experience. i would like to share with you a poem, by Antonio Machado - which you probably know, which I remembered on my camino, and which your comments brought back to mind. "Proverbios y cantares 1912"
