Camino #5: Zubiri to Pamplona (Lessons Learned & Charging Chaos!) 🇪🇸

Buen Camino! We're trekking across northern Spain on the Camino Frances, and today's journey takes us from Zubiri to the vibrant city of Pamplona!
Need the practical details? Look no further!
The Walk: We'll share our insights on the terrain, distance, and any challenges you might encounter on this leg.
Accommodation: Discover where we stayed in Pamplona, what we thought, and how much it cost.
Cost Breakdown: Curious about expenses on the Camino? We'll break down the cost of both accommodation and food (we splurged for a nice dinner in Pamplona at a restaurant that 100 years ago was frequented by none other than Ernest Hemingway!)
But the journey isn't always smooth sailing. Robb will confess to a Camino mistake we made (probably not the last!). We simply weren't prepared to charge all our devices all at once after a long day of walking.
Learn from our experience! This is a valuable lesson in planning your Camino electronics and ensuring you have the right power options.
Buen Camino!

Hey guys 👋 we connected on instagram but somehow just found you over here on the tube. Sounds like you had a serious hike to start this video! You sound like us… snack lots of the day and then an occasional big splurge. It makes the special meals even more exciting. Glad to subscribe and get to know the two of you more.

Hey there, glad you found us! We'll have to look for you here as well. 😀 We aren't foodies, so as long as we can fill up we are usually good, but every so often we do like to splurge a little, especially with local foods and flavors. Like you say, the special memories are more memorable when they are, well, special, and not just something you do every night.

AM I TOO OLD? working so hard at trying to get into shape to do camino in October. Was supposed to do Portuguese one year ago but have had to do cancer treatment and coming back from that is bullllllshit. There is a mountain here in santa barbara and when I am able to hike up it I am purchasing my plane ticket. I bought that sunscreen balm and love it. I was reminded that most sunscreen blocks uv/ub but the tinted spf helps prevent brown spots.

Sounds like you've got a great plan to make it happen. And most importantly, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and ready to try again!!! The tinted sunscreen is terrific, I like that it isn't wet or oily, it just goes on and stays there. Though I did learn the hard way to wash my face well at the end of the day before I dry off with a white towel! 😂

Are you eating enough? It sounds like your lunches are too light for the amount of energy needed.

We are generally two meal a day eaters, so now we are splitting lunch into breakfast and lunch. I definitely do not feel hungry! LOL There is so much bread and potatoes and rice. I’m so glad we are able to find premade salads in the grocery stores so we can maintain at least a little vegetables in our diet. But yes it does seem like some people are eating a lot more than we are. It doesn’t seem like we are losing any weight though so I guess we’re doing fine. 😁 But thank you for the concern, it is a valid question when you are likely burning so many more calories per day to keep up with.
