Booboo Stewart said he was like a little brother to him, and Dove Cameron said they were the best of friends because he helped her through eating disorders and whenever they were performing live, he would whisper whatever she forgot in her ear so she could keep going. I used to LOVE the Descendants movies. Now they just make me feel like crying my eyes out until I can’t breathe

I'm glad the writers were respectful to, instead of excusing Carlos to the adventure with Mal, Evie, and Jay, they honor him with the real actor.

This was the most beautiful way to honour Cameron and his legacy.

I'm very grateful to Disney for what they did in Descendants 4. Paying tribute to Carlos/Cameron the way that they did. It was very touching. RIP Cameron Boyce. 😢

This scene was so real and emotional 😭

That was like real emotion that China Anne McClain did and you could feel it too, like it felt so raw and real to me, and i am glad she was the one to do it, only because China Anne McClain was also as a little kid in the Grown Ups movies along with Adam Sandler and also Cameron Boyce was in that movie, so it was a nice touch to both of them, cause she didn’t get to say goodbye to him probably i am assuming from this scene alone and i am glad with that raw emotion she expressed it and you could see a tear rolling down her face, that’s called pure acting. Also knowing he was in the Grown Ups movies alongside him it makes even more memorable and connected, it makes this scene even more special.

China and Cameron basically grew up together. From the grown up movies to descendants. I would be the same way if I were China. Now let’s have a moment of silence for Cameron as he lives on in a better life.

It's sad to see someone so young pass my uncle passed away from a seizure and he also had diabetes and Addison's 😢 my heart goes out to his family may he rest in peace and be in a better place 🙏❤

Cameron Boyce didn't just die as an actor, he passed on as a, redeemed VK, a person whom came from camp Ceekawaka, a brother of the ross family. R.i.P Cameron Boyce 🕊️, thou shalt be forever missed.

They must have done so many takes with this scene and realize she couldn't do it without getting emotional, he was our childhood icon and her best friend still remember when I saw he passed. He may be gone but he will live forever in our memories and through the shows they do and honor him those that leave us are never truly gone and they can always be found in are hearts and minds

This actually hit hard emotionally and china was definitely feeling that emotion in this scene. Normally when filming you stay in character( in her case Uma), but i think this was the one exception where china mixed this scene as both her character and herself. Believe me this was really shocking when we heard of Cameron's passing, especially at that age.

I've never seen tears more real EVER in the history of cinema. You KNOW China was crying for real there. 😢 RIP Cameron. 🤍🤍🤍🥺

She knew what she was signing up for going into this movie because she knew that Cameron wanted her to move on with life and she knew we would all see him eventually, so good job Disney and rest in peace Cameron Boyce we will always remember you, we’ll see you there and you’ll be our “rotten to the core”

Carlos is our best friend. We won't let anything happen to him. He was a good guy, including jay Mal and ivy.

This moment really made me tear up. That wasn’t even acting, that was real emotion. R.I.P. Cameron, it’s been five years and we still miss you ❤🥺

It literally took a lot for China to get on screen again and get that off her chest for everyone to know. She clearly wasn't ready but was confident enough anyway because this was her childhood best friend; her brother. Not being able to do more projects with him, or work of hang out with him at alm they they normally did, it's all still a bit of a shock to her. It was just something she needed to get out after she went silent over Cameron being gone

China Anne McClain( uma) also played in grown ups 1&2 years ago when her and Carlos were younger, it must have been so hard for the cast.

I was not expecting this in the Movie when I first saw it. It was really a beautiful scene.

me too, my main worry about this movie was how they were gonna handle his character from now on or if they were even gonna mention him and I was so pleasantly surprised, such a sweet and beautiful scene

I am not willing to see the movie, but i am happy they honored him

He was my favorite of the four... I'm glad they didn't recast him... and honored his memory as a tribute to him

When this movie was announced, I was worried that they would give a lame excuse for Carlos to be absent, like that he is on vacation, or worse, just don't mention him at all. It’s so tragically beautiful that they find ways for Cameron Boyce to continue being a part of the Descendants universe. First by including opening/closing tributes to him in Descendants 3, then Descendants: The Royal Wedding special be dedicated in Boyce’s honor, and now this shoutout in Descendants 4 to the late beloved actor. Any time his character or the actor is brought up, tears spring to my eyes. Cameron Boyce, aka Carlos De Vil, may be gone, but he is far from forgotten. Rest In Peace, VK 😢😢

So glad they put this in there. I was worried that they would ignore him or just act like he moved away or something, but I'm so glad that they decided to honor him by having his character pass away with him. In a sense, Carlos and Cameron were one in the same, not just as an acting role but as characters and soul. Having Carlos pass away with Cameron, and tying their destinies together, I think it's what Cameron would have wanted. Beautiful tribute to an amazing soul ❤

I will never forget the news of Cameron’s passing. He was 20-years-old when he died of epilepsy. That’s wonderful that there’s a foundation named after Cameron to raise money to find a cure for epilepsy. BTW…. That’s a beautiful tribute to Cameron’s beloved iconic Descendants character Carlos in the 4th Descendants movie 😪🙏🏼

Sofia should come back. The old cast made their point about not coming back but this is not honoring him in any way. Honoring him would be to keep the franchise alive and going for the fans and the next generation. Not kill it so it's lost in time and forgotten. He was not an actor just to be forgotten cos his cast mates decided to kill the franchise. I'm glad Disney did the right thing.

Cameron, we all miss you. Your legacy will live on and hopefully one day your foundation will help find a cure for epilepsy ❤
