Where I use my camera traps is on a country park where I volunteer . There are people , and so I have to put my Ltl Acorn and Spypoint Solar cameras in metal boxes and wrap Python cables around the on decent trees . I have had some good footage off them , Badgers , Foxes , Muntjac , Mink and Otter . I am going to have to buy another Lenovo laptop as the Apple Mac is a pain with SD cards . Well done Roxy .. I only record evening / night mammals . Batteries are a problem as lot's of camera trap do not do well on rechargeable batteries . Anything less that 2500mHa is useless , and they are slightly wider than normal AA batteries .

Thank you for this amazing video! It is really very interesting and full of useful tips. I recently bought a camera trap like yours and have been experimenting with it for a few weeks, as soon as I can make a video about it too! Thanks again 🙏😊

These camera traps are fantastic, I'm hoping to catch our local Hedgehog visitor and her Hoglets on film. The weirdest thing I have captured on these cameras in the garden was an albino Ferret that had obviously escaped from wherever it lived, lol. The short clip will be on one of my upcoming videos. Great video.

I use Eneloop batteries in mine, they aren't cheap but they are very good. I only use mine in the garden, I wouldn't leave them anywhere public. It's also a good idea to put some bait down, like cat or dog biscuits . I have mine set for 25sec videos with 1 second interval. Mine are Little Acorn cameras.

Great video! I've been thinking of getting a camera trap for ages. There is a river near my house and I think there might be water voles (or bank voles) there. I've also got a fox visiting the fields near my house. Maybe I'll see something.

Hi, I would like to know whether this would be a good idea to set up at our improvised shelter? There are so many people dropping animals they don't want and not only puts us in a difficult position to take care of them, but also puts the animals in danger and basically abandons them which is punishable by law! We don't have electricity nor wifi there so it's impossible to look into any other options except for this and solar power cameras.. I would love to hear your opinion on this xx P.S. I forgot the main question, do they emit any kind of a light while filming?

For the price it is surprisingly decent! Haha yes I know, a lot of batteries, but they do last for ages in there - I still haven't had to change mine and had them in there for over 1 month. Amazon rechargeable ones are pretty decent :)

What’s a good beginner camera. I’m currently doing a zoology degree but I’m not sure whether I wanna go into research or wildlife media work (it might be too late to start tbh😂) but I’d still like to get into it, as a hobby if not for anything else

  • @BenTutton

@@alfiewoodley01 Never too late to start! I started as a wildlife cameraman as my 2nd career after being a Biochemist! Any DSLR will work well for wildlife. It'll let you learn the basics of photography which you'll definitely need if you want to go into the media side of things, and even if you don't, having that skill for fieldwork is very useful - people like pictures when you're giving presentations, it spices up the statistics! I used a Canon 7D for ages - you can pick one up 2nd hand for about £160, grab a long lens, something like the Canon 100-400, or a Sigma 120-600 and you'll be taking great wildlife photos in no time.
