CAMERA TRAP // EURASIAN Lynx // I got NEW equipment // TEST RUN // CAMTRAPTIONS

Hi again.
I got some new equipment for my camera trap and need to find out how to set it up and check if everything is working. This video starts with a timelapse of a Northern Light we had a few weeks ago on a clear night. After that I take you with me to my camera trap and setting it up with the new equipment, explain the set up and at the end I show you a few images of the Eurasian lynx on a snowy day.
I hope you like this video and please feel free to hit the like button or even leave a comment. You even may consider to subscribe my channel.

    GoToPhotoArchive!!! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it doesn't shows in the comment field, but I really appreciate your comment. Yes, it's always a risk that someone might pass by and steal/misplace ;) the camera trap. I chose this spot very carefully and it's a remote area. It's not very easy to get there in winter with a lot of snow, but of course you never know. 😉

    One more question. Which flash system do you use and which transmitter? I had the problem with waking up an Nikon sb28 flash via the Neewer Transmitter on a Canon camera. They didn‘t sent the wake up signal ( only 1 central pin). Now I ordered the camptraption transmitter and hopefully they will work well and as I expect it. Flash on the first picture.😉

    Hi Wolfgang. I use some older Canon flash 580ex II and the transmitter/receiver from camtraptions. I don't get always the first picture with the flash. It look like there is a delay after tha camera woke up. There is a other photographer here up in the north which have the same problem.

    @@alfredlucas3291 Hi Alfred, ok that sounds strange but is the same problem I have with the SB28. I'll receive the camtraption receiver within the next couple of days and will try it with the camtraption sensorprogramm 30? (I guess that this is that one for night with the wake up signal first an 3 shoot after). I hope that this will be the right solution. I'll keep you informed if you want.

    when ordering a lens tube you have to measure from the end of the trigger to the end of the lens and choose your tube from those measurements. great video and beautiful location.

    Great video Alfred, when you mentioned your lens can't go all the way through the lens tube because of the transmitter, reminds me for problems I had before. You can use off-camera hot shoe flash cable, thanks to it you will be able relocate your transmitter elsewhere in the box. This can be usefull if one day you swap to completely wireless system and have in the box one extra receiver for the PIR. Regards and looking forward for some more nice content! Cheers Bogdan

    Nice video Alfred. And nice channel. Is the lens exactly lenght of the tube? Do you need that the lens it have to match the ev filter of the tube or can it be a bit separated if it is not exactly the same distance?

  • @alfredlucas3291

    @alfredlucas3291

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you very much for your comment Mandeo 🙏🙏🙏 No, the lense don't need to match the ev filter of the tube and can be a bit separated from it. I believe the separation can be the same distance as the size of the lens hood. You need to be closer as wider angle you use. I want to use a wide angle of 16mm and for that the 100mm tube was a bit too long. Now I have a 75mm tube and it works very well. Thanks for asking a question and I hope I could answer it to your satisfaction. 🙂 With all the best wishes from Northern Norway

    Hello David. The PIR I put just between night/day and this works fine for me. It depends what you are looking for. The sensitivity is closer to high than low. I get more images with nothing in front of my camera due to strong wind, but also the lynx. If å animal just pass, I not always got a image. Sometimes it take some time before the camera wakes up from the sleeping mode. I hope this answer your question. Thanks for taking contact and have a wonderfull day. 🙂 🇧🇻
