RIP to John Blackwell on the drums. He was grooving on this gig and also was so amazing on so many Prince gigs. Man, this show was such a big influence on me when I was younger and the bands would put on their best shows!

Although on the same album but released as singles before Funk Funk were Find my way (Crown Heights affair inspired) and Rigor Mortis (kool and the gang inspired) I think their distinct sound in party music came out with "Insane "(elements of funk funk but more of their own sound) several albums later.

@@michaelmckenzie6311 I love Rick but think he got credit for his work. I think he also got a lot of mileage out of his persona. Cameo is far more underrated.. The quality of Cameo's music far surpasses Rick's. Rick just had the benefit of a larger label.

@@Rockzilla404 Don't sleep on Ricks' production for his acts as well as for others! Cameo wasn't on that level! They were good but not on Ricks' over all level! That's why he's severely underated! Cameo made joints for themselves and hey that's good enough for me!

My grandparents used to show me Summer Jam tapes when I was a kid(born in ‘94). Timeless music man.

I saw Cameo in concert a few times back in the day, and each and every time they shut it DOWN! Hit after hit after hit with high-energy dancing and unexpected theatrics. I’m so glad we can stream their music!

I had the pleasure of seeing Cameo 2 times. The first was a free concert in Oakland Calif in 1983 they did songs from the Cameosis album their prior albums as well as the new stuff...They were on the same bill as Midnight Star who at that time owned the charts...Cameo blew them away, other than The Time the best live band I have ever seen perform hands down. Facts.... The song Shake Your Pants turned it out had all of Oakland partying.

@ Greg Harris Going to a musical concert was my most favorite thing to do back in the 70's and 80's. I saw so many groups and solo acts that I can't remember all of them. But I'll try: Cameo; Barkays; Parliament (3); Funkadelic (3); Bootsy & the Rubber Bands (3); Larry Graham & Graham Central Station; War; Mandrill; EW&F; Ramsey Lewis; Phyllis Hyman; Roy Ayers; Al Jarreau; Brothers Johnson; Natalie Cole; The Ohio Players; The Isley Brothers; Eddie Kendricks; The Ojays; Midnight Star; Marvin Gaye (one of his last concerts before he died); and a few more that don't come to mind right now. I regret never seeing Michael Jackson or Prince or Stevie Wonder. But most of these performers gave great concerts and the music sound just like or better than the recordings. The O'jays and EW&F gave exceptional concerts.

Once again Cameo crown 👑America's favorite R&B funk and party Band and this video just proven they hold that title

Cameo is 1 of the most talented bands. I've seen them so many times live. Energy unmatched. Love them!

My favorite Band of all time I collected every album they released all the way back to “We all know who we are “ to “ULGY EGO” to “Alligator Woman” Best Band ever.

Aaron Mills and Charlie singleton the backbone of cameo's sound, those cats were so intricate and just extremely important components there rhythm parts were always so way over the top, brother charlie guitar sound and solos very insightful and bone chilling,and brother Aaron those muscular bass lines really stood at attention that in my head definitely defined CAMEO'S music 🎵

Cameo is the ultimate funktastic political band you'll love. Larry Blackmon Tommie Jenkins Nathan Lefftinate and my boy's Aaron Mills and Charlie Singleton . that combination works perfectly. I been with you guys from the beginning. Have never disappointed me.C A M E O... Fu sho. One love My brothers

In Spain a lot of people loves Cameo. I remember when i was a teen i was buy all the long plays. IT was very difficult because nobody knew Cameo here. I Love Cameo Forever!! Its a shame never to see them live in Spain…

​@@lb8471 I always knew Tomi sang lead because I've been to so many live Cameo performances and they were ALWAYS on point!!!! Personally I always thought Tomi was by far the superior vocalist in Cameo but he never felt the need to broadcast this fact because of his humility. Don't get me wrong I love Larry but I believe he felt the need to always be front and center because he knew Tomi was better. Maybe I'm wrong... but Tomi Jenkins you are truly one of the greatest RnB male vocalist's to ever grace the stage!!!

I loved me some Cameo!!! I saw them perform twice maybe three times. But Cameo gave the best concerts!!! Back then, they would throw joints into the audience. I hate I missed catching one; lol. Back then, everyone was about having fun and being kind to one another. So no one was worried about getting shot; poisoning joints; and going to jail. All we wanted to do was party and have a good time. Two of my favorite older hits by them is "Post Mortem" and "Rigor Mortis". Post Mortem was played in the movie, "Next Friday" starring Ice Cube. "Sparkle" and "I Just Want To Be" were good hits for them. But "She's Strange" was a transition hit for them with a jazz flavor. Then "Candy" and "Single Life" came out and then "Word Up was another transition hit for them. They hung around for a number of years until now. If you want to see them, you have to catch a concert if they haven't stopped doing concerts already.

I have seen Cameo live. Love some Cameo.

He said playing for Larry Blackmon was difficult because his snare had to be real tight and hit hard. He said his wrist hurt after each rehearsal.

Cameo is the best

I seen ‘em live in SF at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, in Jan or Feb of ‘06. It was off the chain! It was unreal! It was a old school funk fest. Had them guys from Vallejo there(Con FunkShun), if I remember right, Lakeside was there too. We had a great time!!!

Now that's the type of concerts I like attending💯🔥👍🏽

That was a bad ass concert! Another one was in Frisco in the winter of ‘05 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. It was indoor with the acoustics made into the design of the auditorium. It was something else!
