    While everybody's asking about Jake's friends sexuality, I'm here wishing I had buddies like that to drink with me. Gosh, that came out depressing... Great video btw.

    Yay, more Claudio! 😉 It is nice to see more of Jake's Internet friends in a vlog. This reminds me of a community of Internet friends I was once active with. We were text bloggers and commenters. We were more age diverse, 20-50+. We formed a friendship around the Puntaboulous blog. We had meet ups that brought people from all over the world for a pool party, karaoke night and other parties in NYC. Despite my tendency toward introversion it felt really good to be a part of such a great community. It was always interesting to interact with people from a diverse and varied background. I miss that. I'm thinking about a return to blogging and all the challenges related to that. The art of Internet community cultivation intrigues me. Thanks, Jake, for sharing a part of your world with us. You inspire me.

    I work in a Frankie & Bennys in NI and it was so weird just seeing you in one (since they all pretty much look the same on the inside, decor wise, haha!). I swear I will end up having nightmares of that Happy Birthday music, it happens 5-6 times per shift, haha!

    It is cool to see you were in Birmingham. I live there. It was only busy then because of the german market. It happens every year, I'm use to it 😊.

    If it happens every year, there really ought to be a more organised response because walking through a gridlock of people was as close as I think I'll ever get to HELL. Except for a woman who kept trying to get into a fight. She was great.

    Matt Gavin It does need to be more organised. But to compare the dense crowd to hell... well that would be exaggerating it a bit. But I do agree with you. Birmingham is the 2nd biggest city, London is way worse. The crowd size is much more dense than Birmingham.

    Hey Jake been following your vlogs since they started (but only made a YT account recently). I enjoy them a lot :) I was wonderingg if you could advise me on how to improve my logical thinking etc. For example I never get higher than a bronze in the UKMT maths challenge. But I want to improve a lot to a good enough standard where I can enter a good uni like cambridge. I'm doing AS this year and got 6A* and 5A for GCSE, which I'm very proud of! Thanks again for the great videos :)

    Quick Question: Does using a Mac ever cause problems when doing general compsci degree level programming? In other words, is it better to use a windows OS for coding and compsci work? Or is there really no difference? Thanks.

  • @ClaudioAlbertin

    @ClaudioAlbertin

    9 жыл бұрын

    No, the opposite actually. UNIX systems (including OS X) are much better for most programming and other Computer Science work. If you need Windows, you can still install it via a VM or Bootcamp.

    Pi C I used to use Linux as my main OS, but switched to OS X. I still use it for development environments and servers. In uni we're pretty much OS agnostic, it's much more about the concepts rather than the tools.

    Claudio Albertin Cool, I think I really need to invest in a MacBook as well. Hopefully OS X will be of much more use to me as a web developer than the Windows or Chrome OS/Linux. :P

    But jake you said In one of your videos that your a level results were 3A's and a B in Religious studies and that you dropped critical thinking because you thought it would look strange compared to your other grades. So where did the A* come from?

    Conall Jackson Yeah at AS I got 4 As and a B, then possibly a C in Critical Thinking but I dropped it so never got a final result. An A is the highest grade you can get at AS. At A2 I got 4 A*s.
