That person accusing Cam of copying them is the the one copying. That piece has been around for 50 years or more. Their piece looks like things we would draw on our notebooks in school in the 70s amd 80s. Nothing original period about their art.

Found this channel the other day great content! In the span of couple days watched majority of your guys shorts/podcasts great insight in the tat world. Shoutout to Cam as a young guy my self its great to see progression in ones passion & honing their skills keep killing it!

I’m only a couple minutes in and my first issue is that Cam doesn’t seem to want to own that he referenced some one else’s tattoo from Pinterest even if he made changes. Copying work happens and if we’re being honest it’s not that big of a deal. But when people start saying “I didn’t have a choice because that’s what the client wanted” and “you should take it as a compliment” instead of just owning it, I could see how the original artist might feel some type of way about it. And I like Cam for the record and also acknowledge that part of the reason he’s being called out is because of his larger platform and because it was done well. Love the show and appreciate that the topic was addressed.

That reference is a reference it's not a copy. That person's piece is a total rip-off of old work. Cam changed it enough to create his own art.

Cam changed it a lot . I guarantee it took at least an hour of designing to get it to be that nice and mapped out that well for that part of the hand. He used it as inspiration he didn’t just copy it that makes it his own work. And he’s clearly bothered because he felt like he changed it enough that it was his work . Stealing wasn’t the intent

Using sharpies and highlighters was always fun for me but I suck it at drawing things, but when it comes off my mind then it always look great only because I made it up and that fear of someone saying you fucked up would piss me off lmao 🤣

Hearing Cam talk about him changing his lifestyle toward the end of the video, really speaks volumes about his character. I can't wait to see the artist that he is going to be in 10 years. Good on you, bro!

In honor of cam stealing a tattoo design I will be stealing cams rendition of the design as well

If you transform or enhance an existing concept or piece of art, it is fair game. I think to be considered a “copy” in the thievery sense, you would have to make an exact replica AND claim it as your own. I think the last part is the most important. The day art is relegated to concept ownership, it will be the death of art. It is like someone copyrighting every individual letter of the alphabet so that any future literature with any combination of those letters, regardless of how they are used or the new words they form, is a “copy”.

But , that isn’t the tattoo they wanted. He dropped the ball period. And yes I love the content.

I had a tattoo of a dragon from an artist thats super popular. The tattooer changed the colors the direction of hands face everything we could to make it unique and not exactly like the art peice it was based on. A girl i knew literally got the same exact tattoo, same colors, even a little earring, the tail tip was the same, which it looked like shit so idk why they chose to keep that. It was on the same arm and placement. I didnt say anything and ive never seen her again so

I get what Cam is going through. Its so hard when you feel an unfair or an unjustice has occured and yoyre just supposed to ignore it and let it go? Im struggling now at work with a certain person telling on someone new for things that are genuine nistakes or havent been taught yet, and the person who is telking is also doihg the same things but knows better. Just throwing my opinions in too. Why not? To answer cams question about "how many different ways can you draw a crescent moon?" Is infinate. There's infanate amount of ways to draw a moon. And that was something so easy to redesign and yes you changed it but you still ripped that copy instead of drawing it yourself. Its more like you traced that exact design and then added to it. So they are right. You did steal it. Even if you just used that moon as a reference and did something similar your client probably would have loved that more. But im not hating at all just explaining why people are so upset at about this. Get out your tablet and draw a black crescent moon... make it look scratched in then smoke erase some lines. Bam! New crescent moon design and you did it all yourself you just used this as inspiration instead of a stencil ❤ love you guys still. It would be cam to get busted for this publicly 😂

Artist here as well Artist are one of two things The coolest people ever The biggest piece of shit you'll ever come across in your life ever In college because I came from a trade school learning art I got shit on because I was in higher classes by the upperclassmen, even though our teacher made me do it. So I ended up making a piece they thought my skill level was at and what I was fully capable of when I presented the shit piece they ragged on me when I presented the actual piece silence. They had nothing to say I caught them where I wanted, then proceeded to critique the fuck out of their designs and give them a taste of their own medicine. Anyways pretty much all of them work at a Dunkin Donuts so look whose laughing now. Cam keep doing what you're doing, you're fully capable of many things and someone as young as you has an insanely, INSANELY, bright future.
