As a drummer, playing the John P Kee set requires a level of focus intensity and stamina few can sustain. You also still have to have crazy chops. Much respect to all the drummers who have done it! 🫡

legend Calvin is so humble to allow young drummer to guide him through the set. It's easy on the eye now but Not all musicals would take it when all eyes are watching. Learnt so much from your personality uncle Calvin.

Calvin is one of the most polished drummers I've heard in a while.

Let's all agree that UNC Calvin Rodgers still remains the best drummer that knows how well to use his ride cymbal, keeps the music riding on the bell and also his choice of notes on those three toms and his placement is a killer

@@henrywilliamson8798 I’m not exactly sure of the exactly with this one in particular but I do know whenever Calvin is in the house and John is there, you’re getting a 2 for 1 special! lol I’m assuming this happened here because Calvin seems unsure about the song list which is not how he usually gets down.

Tbh all of JPK best grooves and hits was because of Midwest drummers ladell abrams (from Detroit ) set the groove first He was the blue print to rain on us and might god etc the songs we say wooo too or make the stank face too with all the chops and breaks and drive is definitely a Detroit /Chicago groove that’s why detroit and Chicago produce the best gospel singers choirs and musicians great example when Calvin Rodger was playing anyhow was definitely a typical old Detroit/Chicago groove hand and footwork and fills it took me back to new direction feeling or back home in detroit Craig memorial tabernacle days
