I'm not sure what 'ordinariness' means in this context, certainly the traditional churches of which I've been a member have welcomed the less ordinary! Even encouraged, as Colin puts it, the 'dissolute factions'. And why not?! Jesus was a supreme example of extraordinary. He would have been thought of as morally dissolute and disruptive in his day. He taught his disciples thus. He was teaching those priceless, timeless virtues and truths which have endured.

Only became aware of Colin and Calvin since GB News started and was encouraged to find like minds being given air time to express what I think many of us really worry about! However, I worry your conversation relates to a time lost and left me feeling a little depressed and wonder if we can get back to the idea of community and respect when our communities are so scattered and diverse with more materialistic and self absorbed ideals. Brilliant :) I couldn´t help but think, all the things you delved into, almost became a list of why British society & culture looks, sounds & feels like a nation adrift! Few common values, few foundation stones of truth, a diluted history, a misguided toxic education system, a media replete with a desire to make money above its responsibility to objectively report, a poisonous social media and a political class more interested in their careers than doing the job of administering the nation on behalf of the people! I think Calvin is correct when he says this generation is already lost and that the nation´s focus must be on not allowing/making the same mistakes with the next. These vids should be part of the education curriculum :) Much respect to you guys.

Join us in the bi centenary in 2025 in Darlington! Another obstervation I can make as an old person, is the vast change in the value to society of expereince and a long perspective on life has been lost. Young people often/usually/normally think they know best! I did too. But as you grow older and face challenges and disappointments your view of life changes. Older and wiser heads need to be valued.

Back in the early 60s I was lucky enough to go to my local grammar school. I chose the technical route and our master Was R.E.Jones (Scruff). He was somewhat looked down on by the establishment as he didn't wear a mortar board and gown to show his superior status and he was teaching practical skills rather than esoteric academic subjects. Sometimes in a double period theory lesson he would seem to go off on a tangent. We loved it as we weren't doing school work, just having fun. An example I often quote is when he brought up the question of should he build a home nuclear shelter for his family. This was the time of the 'Cold War' with Russia. Seems history is repeating itself! The class had a lively debate and we all gave our opinions. Waste of school time, not a bit of it. What the crafty sod was doing was to teach us to analyse a problem, research and discuss it with colleagues and come up with a viable solution. This was his way of teaching pupils to think and reason independently rather than falling for 'Group Think' and following the herd.

Two wonderful human beings right there. I had no idea Calvin is on the verge of becoming a priest. I went to his website and found out he's a Linux and Raspberry Pi computer geek too! I think we need him to become an MP and eventually the PM as his traditional kind, balanced and intelligent thinking is what our country needs. He's a very clear communicator. I'm shocked to hear that priests can be disciplined for giving sermons on Christian values. What??? That's one of the cornerstones that's kept us together as a nation for centuries and has made us (mostly) good people with a common set of moral guidelines that everyone once understood. The three institutions that are supposed to keep us safe, educate our children and provide a moral compass have been compromised by turning woke; MI5, schools & universities and the church. We're pretty much doomed.

@@SheilaTitchener To be fair, the mentality of the left, as Calvin puts it, was rather occluded back then. There were vague intimations. I was a lecturer then, fortunately I had some inkling from the young students coming through. Hence a very conscious choice to send my children to church grammar schools. They claim to be 'atheists' now, but somehow they've all followed very traditional community-enhancing careers/lives. Two things strike me: one is that we simply must not allow the state and its institutions to ever be in charge of our children's education, no matter if it's leftists or rightists in charge; secondly, church schools consistently come top of all the leagues - there's more than an intimation of the right path there I think!! I'm so sad that your children were so tainted by the leftist madness. It's never too late to learn...I hope they'll grow out of their brainwashing...

These conversations are happening more often than you might think, up and down the country, but they're not happening in open spaces. They're not happening in offices where the boss might hear, on the TV where the masses might hear. Respect to CB for setting this away but with a mere 15 comments so far it seems to be destined to remain a conversation that is taking place is shushed spaces I'm afraid.

I had to search for this as although I have notifications switched to all, I wasn't notified so may take time to filter through to people.

@@anthonychadwick3200 Two months on and 256 supportive comments, 1.1K likes and over 17K views is not bad! @JamesJackson is right - these same conversations are so frequent as to be mainstream out here in the real world!
