As a woman who had an abortion 55 years ago I can attest to the lifetime of deep sorrow I experience. I became a Christian 5 years after the experience and because of Christs forgiveness I too have learned to forgive myself. Without Him I would have either committed suicide, buried my grief in drugs and alcohol. I went on to marry and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. They are the joys of my life. However the deep regret I carry in my heart over that precious child will be with me until I’m reunited with her/him in paradise.

And what's so important is that these sorrows come about not just from typical guilt as we know it, but genuine pain respective to what has transpired, and hopefully these sorrows are never mispercieved as burdensome in an unfair way. The mystery of it all seemingly has to do with the fact that in having sorrow we can offer it up to our Lord, having already been forgiven, Jesus will know what to do with our tears, just as He also knows how to put to use our prayers. I'm sorry to you and all the ladies who have suffered an abortion. I as a man feel responsible for those pains in some way, it saddens me the culture of despair that leads so many down to accepting that road. Christ's mercy is our infectious beacon of hope, I want healing for all, I want Jesus.

I was in a situation where they advised an amniocentesis, but I refused. Eventually I had a Downs Syndorme child, I could never abort a child. That child was an angel.
