I think what the judges said was the most true, put him a studio where he can try as many times as he wants record it and sell it. They did that with his audition song and now he has like 127 milion hits on youtube.

That makes him a real performer. He carries on, because the show must go on, then he finished the performance brilliantly. He's a star.

Actually people get complimented for covering it up really smoothly, which he didn't do in this case. I don't think there has ever been anyone that stopped singing in a live show. Personally, I wouldn't even think about the screw up with how amazing the second part was.

I was merely pointing out that the very thing you claimed to never have happened in fact has happened and was well documented. It's completely on topic. " Not relevant to what I'm saying though, about people who actually sing." Ashley Simpson released several songs that made the top 100 billboard songs. One of her songs even reached as high as #5. Why I don't personally like her music, how is she not considered someone "who actually sings." Not to mention you actually thing SNL would invite a musician on stage to sing, who wasn't someone that "actually sings?" I'm utterly confused by you thinking this was some how off topic in pointing out that your logic was flawed. While I'll agree Calum didn't do a good job of covering up his mistake at all. I'd also say their have been much worse blunders during live performances one of them being Ashlee* Simpsons blunder on SNL. Which goes right to the heart of your point. Your point was he didn't do a good job, and in fact unless someone walks off his stage his blunder was about as bad as it could get. I simply showed you that it does get worse, hence the Ashlee Simpson issue on SNL.

this is so amazing, and he has only been singing for like 3 years. i keep listening to him.

As a singer myself, I know that this guy has a voice that's better than about 95 percent of the male singers that are active today. No autotune necessary to hit the high notes without going flat. If you watch a lot of the current singers on stage, it doesn't take very long to realize that some of them can't carry a tune in a water bucket singing live. This guy, Calum Scott is note perfect. Everybody screws up on stage at some point, shit happens. He recovered like a professional.

The first time I heard this song I thought nothing of it then one day I was driving and I suddenly got it. I just watch the fancy produced single version and then watched this one, I had never seen or heard it. It beats the hell out of the produced version, the rawness and accent and nerves and passion he sings with is absolutely perfect for this song and should be released as a single just as it is, it is amazing!

you can see how nervous he was at the beginning where he lost it a little bit, shook his head and coughed before picked it up again and did an amazing job.

go back and watch the season again, a lot of the time Simon doesn't stand when all 3 other judges are. Doesn't mean he was annoyed. Just can't be fucked. This show has made the standing ovation a common occurrence, doesn't have the same effect it used to.

I'm so happy that I hear Dancing on my own everywhere on the radio now here in The Netherlands. When I first saw that video I fell in love with his voice and now I know I'm not the only one. Calum is really like a hero for me ♡

Even if the dog act won? Calum is the real winner anyway! He has so many videos out and has been contacted my hundreds if not thousands of record labels companies that wanted him to sign up with them for life with his incredible voice. Remember Susan Boyle messed up in her final song when she coughed singing her final song! The same song she sang in her Audition she sang in the finals. She became a global star right away! Calum Scott is now a HUGE SUCCESS! So runner ups do become the big stars as well! Even bigger than the winner 9/10 times! Good things happen to good people. He's very humble to this day.

What a voice this guy have......... what a blessing. U just can't stop listening to him while he's singing.

Love to his Mum for sharing him with the world and encouraging him to go and live his dream. It is where you never work a day in your life. When you love what you do. Keep singing.
