    Solar input is a low compared to other all in ones with 500v and 100 amps pv input. I appreciate the videos. I'm going on 2 years into my adventure with solar and have learned a great deal from you and others on KZread.

    Thanks for the review. I guess it's supposedly a rebadged SRNE. Would love to see a review if the calpha 5000w if you can get your hands on one. Their price points are pretty darn competitive, for the functionality.

    Yeah pretty much, depends on how cheaply made they are. I've had high quality ones with ball bearings last a really long time. The cheap ones usually have sleeve bearings, and the crappy lube dries up too soon. Thanks!

    Ahh, I didn't know they were going away. I guess they have been around awhile. Always bothered me that something like this may just go away, what if you have several of them in parallel, or multi-phase, and one needs replacing? Thanks!

    @@BradCagle I've had to do that a few times now. Fortunately they aren't completely gone yet, although one has to make sure the firmware matches between parallel units or series units. The price on these is cheap enough if they turn out to be one that holds up that they could fill the bill and not piss current customers off too much if more than one has to be replaced. Time will tell. If they are the same as the Renogy unit like someone else commented, that's not encouraging.

    Good day, I am trying to get as much info I can to make my own solar system. The only problem is i don't know anything about this. :) I want to go totally off grid (electricity is available as back up) and my 2 biggest items are the 12000 btu inverter aircon and an old-style non-inverter fridge oh and washing like 2-3x per week. Now I am lucky bec where I live (ARUBA) the sun shines even at night, :) can you recommend me or tell me how big the system must be? Thanks and keep up the good work.

    Other than the initial setup stuff, was there anything really negative about this unit? I don't plan on buying their battery, but even if I did, I can build the cable. They have a 5000w unit that's $100 more than the one you tested so... in your opinion is this a good deal or is there something better?

    I think it does. In the manual it mentions priority. You can set AC as the priority meaning it'll use AC-Grid until it drops out, or the voltage is out of range, then it switches to the inverter, and battery. I'll see if I can get a follow up video in to test this. Thanks

    Does anyone make a grid tie inverter with battery and solar inputs:?

  • @BradCagle

    @BradCagle

    5 ай бұрын

    Yes, I think the Megarevo (although I've heard of problems), and many others do. Actually I think the term "Hybrid" is really meant to note it being "Grid-tie", and "Off-Grid" capable. Thanks!

  • @BenMitro

    @BenMitro

    @@BradCagle I'm not sure Brad. I think hybrid means you can feed it power from the mains and the output can power things, but the output is not synchronised to mains phase so cannot be connected to the mains. Grid tie means it is synchronised to the mains and can feed the grid directly. I may be wrong though.

    A 20ish phone charger or small power bank then would not be detected as a load?! 🤔 Though i highly doubt one would use such setup to power on such small loads. 😅 Still would be an interesting test to see.

    Calpha Alfalfa. These cheap, Chinese made, lightweight high frequency transformerless inverters offer a shorter life expectancy and a poorer peak power capacity than real inverters that are made with iron core, copper wound output transformers. High frequency inverters like this, also offer less safe operation, because without an output transformer, they don't provide any galvanic isolation. This inverter is no different in design than a cheap Harbor Freight inverter. No thanks.

    I don't accept payment for reviews, never have. Some products I have affiliate links with, this is not one of them. Most of time I do receive a product sample for free to conduct the review. The product has value, so I'm required to check that box when uploading the video. This causes the "Includes Paid Promotion" banner to show. Now that being said, people use HF inverters, many people like them, so to each their own. I have a Victron coming up next so you'll finally have something you might like? Thanks
