And that is how Calliphone won the title of Absolute Roaster.

Calliphone knew perturabo better than he knew himself, his own personality placed him at a disadvantage. He was unable to see love in actions because he only understood cold logic.

She didn't know him at all. She looked at him as a mere man when he was not. She saw the universe through her inexperience and nievety. He was designed for things far beyond the endurance and capability of a normal man. She tried to keep him from becoming who he was designed to be. You can't expect a lion to be a house cat and the arrogance in believing you can will cost you your life. She only cared to see existence through her own eyes and thoughts. The imperium could never survive under her ways. She failed to realize that love and compassion must be balanced with violence and brutality.

@@imperatorlightoneous1382You sound like a profoundly unfun and bitter person, if you really believe that. Apologia for Perturabo is an astoundingly weird hill to die on. Seriously? Love and compassion must be 'balanced with violence and brutality'? What the hell, man.

Her criticisms are pretty rich coming from a spoiled noble who never rebelled against her own tyrannical father.

The good traitor primarchs are so frustrating, they are always right there and just can’t see their madness. You feel like one conversation with the emperor would have been enough to save them.

Perhaps the real tragedy is that some of the traitor primarchs are more like the emperor than the emperor would like to admit.

The Emperor told that to Konrad before the assassin came to kill him. He told him that he could've saved him and his mind if he'd seen him just one more time

@@TrazynsHostThey are him and he knows that. The issue with them being different parts of his personality, is that the trait of his they possess don't have the others to balance out the main one. That's why I think the Emperor wanted to raise them, to teach them to balance themselves on the inside like he does. Chaos stealing them robbed them of that experience, which ultimately led to why they have such great and prevalent character flaws

@@user-iy5ww2hj4p He did it because at their conception, they were first and foremost meant to be generals for the Crusade. And to have a good and effective army, he needed generals that thought differently from one another so that if any problem/war came up at least 2 or 3 of them would be able to handle it in the most effecient way. Another reason is that he couldn't just make all of them like him, dude is like tens of millenia old. That could only happen through time, experience and gained wisdom.

@@usssztorm1410 Big E did a lot wrong, but Perty is responsible for his own fuck up. He didn't need to do randomized decimation that didn't take into account the worth of each soldier. He didn't need to fight in the most difficult way that involves the equivalent of human wave tactics with astartes just because in the short term it had a slightly higher percentage of victory. He didn't need to stay in silence while also wanting to be congratulated. I hate to bring up Bobby G, but he had a similar upbringing to Perty, but saw value in investing in other people, and that a person shouldn't be disposed off just because they aren't exactly what you want right now. Perty was always too lazy to raise people up to his standard and wasted the lives of too many valuable soldiers who only fucked up once or were associated with someone else who fucked up. He didn't understand that you need to have proper logistics to sustain a high level of recruitment from a single planet, because birth rates can only be so high. There's dozens of more issues that can be brought up, but all of them are Perty's fault.
