In frequency and intonation, the sound of the whistle mimics a badger cub in distress, causing both adults to run towards the sound at full throttle. As you can see from their movement behavior, they are very nervous about the sound, as any other adult would be when they hear cub in distress. Also calling badgers "predators", with all the new data on the specie, really? When you execute a pair or clan of badgers, you simply open up a spot for a fox or jackal to occupy their empty lair. I'd rather to have badgers on our hunting ground than fox or golden jackal, but when we have badgers, the chance of having fox or jackal in the badgers territory is lower.

interesting info. Seems a bit fucked up to just call them in and hunt them like that in my view.
