Calling A Ceramic Coating Business As A Customer | Can They Sell Me?

Jump into the FREE 5 part video series RIGHT NOW to learn how to get started in CERAMIC COATINGS TODAY!
wilsonautodetailing.com/coati...
Professional detailers are often INCREDIBLE detailers... and not so good when they speak with potential customers. In this video I call a professional detailing business as a customer to see how the detailer walks me through the SALE over the phone!
Here's how the call went:
I opened up the conversation asking "I'd like to learn more about ceramic coatings..." and immediately the detailer on the other end said: "Well let me ask you this first... do you ever take your car through an automated car wash?"
Like I said above, detailers are often incredible professional detailers, but no so good with talking to PEOPLE!!! This call is a great example of the way most conversations like this go... detailer answers the phone, goes down a rabbit hole of random detailing and ceramic coating information, confuses the customer, and the conversation ends with the customer being more confused then they were before... here we go.

Luke, you point out what the guy should have focused on first but you never say what they are to do with that information. That is, you do not point out why you need that information and then what kind of reply various answers to that would generate from you. As a former salesman, it seems to me that the guy was focusing on the benefits without laying the groundwork for why a ceramic coating is the way to go. I'm not knocking your points only that you did not explain why the things you think he should have asked were important to ask and then what those answers would lend you to add to the presentation.

And if that's to expensive for you you need to go through a backyard detailer lol that's what I would have told you.The detailer handled it fine because he obviously does high end detailing and he's not going to give you a cheaper version because that's not what he does or is about. $1200 is going to include paint correction and he explains that. If you rang Sandro from car craft auto detailing in Australia he would tell you to go somewhere else because he knows you aren't going to pay him for the kind of work he does. He will tell you straight up he doesn't come cheap and if you call him like you just did he will say my service isn't for you. @@OZIPUG1970 you completely missed what I was saying. There are people that actually run a business and you can’t be rude to someone because they are being cheap. You can still deliver quality within someone’s budget. Instead of being rude and telling someone to go to a cheaper person ask what his budget was. If Luke’s budget was $700 I would tell him for that I can run a quick polish and coat. It’s a 2020 and Luke wasn’t looking for defect removal but more so protection and shine. You don’t always have to brush people off because they don’t have the budget you charge. For $700 you are getting the quality of the ceramic coating install which is all Luke was after. And it being a newer coupe it shouldn’t take more than 5 hours. Since you are delivering quality and you know he changes vehicles every 2-3 years that’s a repeat high ticket client.
