@@iyaskelu7173 I disagree. It would be one thing if Christianity's only problem was Christological prophecy. But that's not the only problem in that book. Contradictory verses, contradicting theologies, absurd verses (no one in christian church seem to read those), etc. The christian bible is a fraud and a silly joke (check current biblical literacy rates in christian churches). Christianity has been dying a little with every passing generation. Thankfully, the pandemic accelerated the process. That book is a mess and it's not worth anyone's devotion. And as far as the Rabbi goes, he seems rational to me. I'm not going to convert to Judaism because I don't believe in it either. I admire the Rabbis proficiency in dealing with the text. He's also nicer than any christian I've ever seen. At the end of the day, Christianity has always been an evolving religion. I don't think Christianity today can even come close to resembling what it was in the distant past (2000 years ago). We should all let that religion just expire. It does nothing but cause division and problems.

Listen to this video carefully, christians. Watch it a few times if you have to. Isaiah 7:14, and in fact the whole chapter, isn't even about the messiah! We shouldn't have to explain the later prophets to them. The Divine Code by Rabbi Weiner says the first five books of the Hebrew Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) are the very essence and substance of the Written Torah (2nd edition, p 38). This means, it must mean, we are supposed to derive Torah law from the Pentateuch.

@@hrvatskinoahid1048 Shalom, Hrvatski. Of course, I agree with you completely about where the Law is derived from and where we should focus our attention. When christians have misconceptions about other points in Tanakh, however, upon which they are basing and justifying their idolatry, I think it's incumbent upon us to try to correct them if we are capable. That's a tall order considering how misled and emotionally resistant most of them are, but personally I feel remiss if I let their blatantly wrong ideas stand without at least trying to point them in the right direction. There is nothing delving deeply about that, I believe, just correcting some basic mistakes that have led people astray. And if not us, then who? There are rabbis out there like Rabbi Singer (let me correct that: there is no one like Rabbi Singer! ;-)) but there are some who are trying to educate gentiles. But I think most Jews don't see it that way, i.e., as their obligation to go out of their way to teach christians/gentiles. Maybe that can even be seen an emerging role for Noahides? All the best.

In this information age, have you looked at the facts to consider whether the stories in the Tanach can be true? Does the information that is readily available tell you that the Earth is only 6000 years old? Does all the evidence of geology, astronomy and biology tell you that evolution is true, that humans never coexisted with dinosaurs? Does the information age tell you that the stories of the bible are just fantasies that contradict reality at every turn? Do we not know it is immoral to own and sell people, to mutilate genitals to appease an invisible God, that is immoral to stone people to death for wearing the wrong fabric, that it is wrong to kill babies because they are the enemy? So, tell me again how surprised you are in this information age that Christians continue to be blind to reality.

Every individual must do Teshuvah. Teshuvah includes recognizing what you did wrong, feeling genuine regret, undoing any damage done if you can, resolving not to do it again, and if it is a person you have wronged being forgiven by the person who was wronged. Showing a true repentance can occur when you have the chance to break the same commandment again and make the choice not to break the commandment again. Do good deeds and pray for forgiveness and hopefully you will be forgiven.

The infancy narrative appearing at the beginning of the canonical gospel of Matthew (chapters 1-2) was appended by early Christians. In its original Aramaic form, such as was mostly preserved by the Ebionites in their rendition of the gospel, the infancy narrative is lacking. Simply put, dozens of infancy narratives about Jesus were invented by early Christians during the late apostolic age in attempts to recast him as being divinely predestined for the function of messiah, rather than being some obscure sectarian from Galilee. This was a doctrinal development within Christianity attempting to define when exactly Jesus became God’s chosen one. Chronologically, Jesus was originally viewed as having become God’s chosen one at his crucifixion and/or resurrection. This is most apparent in the older written sources such as the gospel of Mark, the Didache, etc. Later, it was at his transfiguration when Jesus became God’s chosen. Yet later, it was at his baptism, and later more, at his birth, as is apparent from reading the many infancy narratives still extant. And it was not even the final stage of this doctrinal development, as the fourth gospel portrays Jesus as having been God’s chosen since before his birth. This doctrinal development can be mapped along a linear timeline from 30-120 CE. It is not much different than the (centuries-long) development of the doctrine of the trinity.

The passage you're referring to comes from Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." This passage is often cited in Christian tradition as a prophecy foretelling the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. The original Hebrew term used in Isaiah is 'almah,' which indeed means a young woman or maiden. This term does not specify whether the woman is a virgin or not, though it is often used in contexts where virginity is likely. However, when the Old Testament was translated into Greek in the Septuagint (a Greek version of the Jewish Scriptures) several centuries before the birth of Christ, 'almah' was translated as 'parthenos,' which does specifically mean virgin in Greek. Later, in the Gospel of Matthew, when the author cites Isaiah 7:14, he uses the Greek word 'parthenos.' The question you're asking involves the implications of this translation issue. Here are a few things to consider: Theological Implications: Some critics argue that the use of 'parthenos' in Matthew and the Septuagint is a mistranslation, and that this challenges the doctrine of the virgin birth of Christ. Others maintain that 'almah' could and often did refer to a virgin, and the translation as 'parthenos' is justified. Still others suggest that the virgin birth was a later Christian belief read into the text of Isaiah, whether or not the original Hebrew text intended to imply it. Contextual Implications: In its original context in Isaiah, the sign of a young woman bearing a son named Immanuel was likely a more immediate sign to King Ahaz of Judah to whom the prophecy was addressed, and not intended as a messianic prophecy. Matthew, however, reinterprets the passage to refer to Jesus, which is a common practice in the New Testament where earlier scriptures are given new meanings in light of Christ. Textual and Interpretive Implications: This issue highlights the complexity of translation and interpretation, especially when dealing with ancient texts. Word meanings can change over time and can be influenced by cultural, theological, or ideological perspectives.

There is another possibility. The Ptolemies who commissioned the translation were also very interested in syncretism, in fact they created an Egyptian-Homeric Syncretism. And we know clearly that Philo although not living in the Ptolemaic Kingdom but under Roman Rule specifically set out to create a syncretism with Jewish theology and Greek Philosophies (of the Pythagorean line) in fact Philo was called the Pythagorean. So it is a reasonable hypothesis that a Greek-Jewish syncretism was already in process in the Septuagint. I suppose to test this hypothesis one could look at correlations in the Septuagint and the Homeric themes, Orphic mysteries, and Logos/Pythagorean Philosophies. So this “mistranslation” may have been entirely intentional.

By the time she reaches menopause, about 50 years old, she will still have about 1000 eggs left. Sarah, in the words of chazal, "had no womb", a hyperbole describing her inability to conceive. The miracle was therefore twofold: 1. Hashem gave her the ability to conceive, when she was barren by nature. And 2. having reached menopause and was no longer menstruating at all, she began to menstruate again at the age of 90 WITH the ability to conceive.

"Luke" does the bullshit with the absurd Roman Empire wide census LOL; the idea of everyone going back to where their ancestors were from is just hilariously laughable. I think I "Luke" deserves more mocking than scorn; "Matthew" butchered the prophecies with an attempt to prove Jesus was the Messiah. This is why he deserves more scorn. I'm fine with being proven wrong on the Septuagint point; although many scholars argue that the author of Matthew used the Septuigent. Whatever copy he used likely had the Greek word "virgin" rather than "young woman". I think it's fair to conclude that there were competing versions of copies of the Tanakh and many had variations of this passage. Perhaps the versions that contained "virgin" were due to a translation error. I don't know if the author of Matthew knew the original was "young woman" and it's fair to not conclude the author butchered the passage unless we are certain he knowingly did so. Imo there's no evidence "Matthew" knew Hebrew to my knowledge. The Gospel was definitely written in Greek. So he likely used a Greek copy and not a Hebrew copy. @@mattmiller9809 Well, misquoting sounds like he just made a mistake and quoted it wrong. I don't believe this. I think he knew exactly what it said and deliberately altered it. The proof is that he did this about a dozen times. How is it possible he could make so many careless mistakes unless of course he did it on purpose? The arguments about the septuagint are just so amusing to me and show how these people don't think. Let's put aside that the septuagint was only written on the five books of Moses and let's put aside that there was no original Septuagint since it was long ago lost in a fire in Alexandria. But even if there was some translation from Rabbis on Isaiah, we don't need a translation. Think about how dumb this is. You only need a translation if you don't know the meaning. We have the original. We speak Hebrew today. We could read Hebrew. We know exactly what it says in the Hebrew and this is corroborated in the DSS. It doesn't say virgin. It is completely irrelevant even if there actually was a septuagint because we have the original. There is no need for a translation. One of the most comical ways Christians use the Spetuagint as an excuse is in Luke 4:18 when he distorts Isaiah 61:1 and claim that this is all coming from the Septuagint. The story is that Jesus is reading from a scroll. He is reading from the Hebrew. How is it possible he is getting this from a translation if he is actually reading the Hebrew? The bottom line is that the word alma always means young woman and the word for virgin is always betula. Therefore - This is a term of conclusion which always begs the question of the reader "What is it there for?" Because of Ahaz's act of unbelief and failure to ask for a sign, God Himself will instead give the sign. A sign should be a miracle not a young girl giving birth to a boy. That's not a sign. Then Behold (02009) (hinneh) is an interjection (= a word in speaking or writing, thrown in between words connected in construction, to express some emotion or passion) often seeks to grab the reader's attention and says something like - Look! Pay attention! Don't miss this next point! Hinneh draws attention to an important fact or action that follows and in a sense demands our attention. It follows that the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14 demands every reader's very careful attention. Unfortunately this great passage has been scrutinized and criticized to the the point that the reader might miss the Lord's clear intent (remembering that He is not a God of confusion!) That said there are some legitimate difficulties in the translation and interpretation of this famous passage. Young adds that "hinneh or “behold!” is employed in the Scriptures to announce a birth of unusual importance and significance." (The Book of Isaiah 3 Vol. Edward J. Young) (Young) Spurgeon reminds us that "Behold is a word of wonder; it is intended to excite admiration. Wherever you see it hung out in Scripture, it is like an ancient sign-board, signifying that there are rich wares within, or like the hands which solid readers have observed in the margin of the older Puritanic books, drawing attention to something particularly worthy of observation." I would add, behold is like a divine highlighter, a divine underlining of an especially striking or important text. It says in effect "Listen up, all ye who would be wise in the ways of Jehovah!" Hinneh is translated in the Septuagint with the interjection idou (strictly speaking a command in the second person aorist imperative, middle voice) a demonstrative particle (used 1377 times in the Septuagint and NT) which is found especially in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke "and giving a peculiar vivacity to the style by bidding the reader or hearer to attend to what is said: "Behold! See! Lo!" (Thayer) The command is calling for urgent attention. Do this now! Don't delay! It could be loosely paraphrased "Pay attention!" or "Listen up!" to arouse attention and introduce a new and extraordinary fact of considerable importance. W E Vine says that it is notable that when behold (hinneh) is used in Isaiah, it always introduces something relating to future circumstances. Virgin (05959) ('almah) has several meanings depending on the context - young woman of marriageable age (Ge 24:43), maiden (Pr 30:19), girl (Ex 2:8), virgin. While some argue that 'almah is by no means an unambiguous Hebrew term for a virgin, it is notable that a passage such as Genesis 24:43 describes not only a young woman of marriageable age but one who undoubtedly is a virgin. Thus the use of 'almah by no means excludes the possibility that the intended meaning in Isaiah 7:14 is a literal virgin. 'Almah is never employed of a married woman. 'Almah - 7x in OT - Gen 24:43; Ex 2:8; Ps 68:25; Pr 30:19; Song 1:3; 6:8; Isa 7:14 Without going into the various interpretations and arguments concerning the meaning of the Hebrew word 'almah, the Greek word parthenos chosen by the Hebrew translators of the Septuagint (Lxx) lends support to the interpretation of 'almah in Isaiah 7:14 as a virgin. BDAG says that parthenos is used "generally of a young woman of marriageable age, with or without focus on virginity" (See Mt 25:1, 11, 1Co 7:25, 28, 34). As an interesting aside, because the Jews' own Greek translation of the OT (Lxx was translated by Jewish scholars circa 150BC) negated their claims that 'almah did not mean virgin, Isaiah 7:14 is one of the reasons Jewish synagogues ceased using the Septuagint Scriptures and returned to the Hebrew Scriptures! When individuals are not willing to believe God's Word of Truth (whether in Hebrew or Greek!), it is amazing (and sad) the lengths to which they will go in order to try to cover up or refute the Truth! W A Criswell adds that The Septuagint (Lxx) also uses parthenos to translate another Hebrew word meaning "virgin" (betulah), again underscoring the fact that parthenos meant "virgin" in the Lxx and for Matthew (Ed: See Mt 1:23 below). It is clear that both Matthew and the Lxx translators understood that Isaiah was speaking of a virgin when he used `almah. And this is precisely the purity which both Matthew and Luke ascribe to Mary (cf. Mt 1:18-25; Lk 1:26-35). Matthew quotes from Isaiah 7:14 and uses the Greek noun parthenos... BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN (parthenos) SHALL BE WITH CHILD, AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US. (Mt 1:23) Luke also uses parthenos in his description of Jesus' mother Mary... Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin (parthenos) engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's (parthenos) name was Mary. (Lk 1:26, 27-note) In the conclusion of a well referenced study (72 references cited) of the meaning of 'almah in Isaiah 7:14 Niessen concludes that The evidence supports both the traditional translation of “virgin” and the modern translation of “young woman,” but each must be qualified. The English term “virgin” does not suggest age limitations while the English phrase “young woman” does not suggest virginity. The word עַלְמָה ('almah) demands both, and so a more accurate translation would be “young virgin.” (The Virginity of the עַלְמָה in Isaiah 7:14 - Bibliotheca Sacra 137:546, April, 1980)

The Septuagint Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures would have been widely used in the Greek speaking and writing world of the 1st century, and that included Israel. It is therefore not surprising that the New Testament writers referred to it, given that they wrote in Greek themselves. Whilst the Septuagint originally included the first 5 books, all the evidence suggests the rest of what we call the Old Testament writings were included over the following century or so. If you disagree with the Greek translation you should take it up with the Greek-speaking Jews who translated it. I would suggest your caller does some of his own research before concluding as you do that this just comes from Christian 'apologetics'. Rather, it's a fact of history.

Rabbi what I see happened with the New Testament is this. All the New Testament is that it was translated into Greek for that was the largest spoken language in the world, at the time that it was written. Then Latin became the number one spoken language during the Roman occupation. But they didn't go back to the original language that Matthew wrote in, which was Hebrew. Then King James of England gave permission for an English translation to be written. But here again the translation was taken from the Latin into English, which would distort the true meaning that Hashem intended. The people that were to translated it into English. They even translate Brit Chadashah - wrong, as far as I am aware of. For English is my native tongue, and I'm just now beginning to understand the basics of Hebrew. The translators of the Bible into English, should not have used the Latin. They should have used the language that writers of the New Testament used, which is Hebrew. The translators should have interpreted the spoken word of Hashem into English through the original Hebrew that the New Testament was written. But this was Hasatan's plan to kick all the Jews out of England before interpreting Hashem's word into English so as distort the true meaning of Hashem's word. That is why I agree that all Christians should learn Hebrew so they can read it in the original language that Matthew, Mark, Luke, John Timothy, Jude, and Paul wrote in, which is Hebrew.

@Chris Massey; I have already explained this to you. When Paul came back to Jerusalem in Acts 21, there was a Jesus follower community there. - In Acts 21:20 the early disciples of Jesus in Jerusalem told Paul; *”You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law”* * Here is a thriving community in Jerusalem of many thousands which was led by those who had known Jesus when he was alive on earth. All of them followed the Jewish law.

@@ChrisMassey-gn6yp wrote; *”So I guess your answer to my question is yes”* * The question; @Chris Massey wrote; *”Did Jews witness Jesus in the first century?”* * There is great difficulty for fundamentalist Christians in understanding that the Jesus follower community in Jerusalem had a very different view of Jesus compared to what was later created by Paul for the non Jews in the Roman Empire. * Therefore what each group was sharing or “witnessing” about Jesus was very different. First, for others, defining “witnessing”. * From Biblesforamerica; *”Witnessing simply means telling others what we’ve personally experienced of the Lord Jesus.”* * What were the Jesus followers in Jerusalem sharing about Jesus? * Picking out passages from the speech by Peter in Acts 3 will give some ideas. - Jesus was resurrected from the dead by God. (Acts 3:15) *”God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.”* - Jesus is a prophet like Moses. (Acts 3:22) *”God will raise up for you a prophet like me”* - The Jewish Law through God’s covenant remains in effect and the people of Israel are heirs to the wisdom of the prophets. (Acts 3:25) *”you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers.”* - God forgives sins. (Acts 3:19) *”Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out”* - Jesus is in Heaven until the time when God will change the world. (Acts 3:21) *”Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets”* - In the NIV translation it is not even certain if Jesus will be the future final king Messiah. Maybe it will be Jesus. (Acts 3:20) *”20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you-even Jesus.”* * This is pretty much the view of the Jewish sect in Jerusalem on the believed resurrection of Jesus and what it could mean. - Jesus was not central to Peter’s sharing/witnessing. For Peter in Acts 3, Jesus was a human prophet who was essentially a sign or omen for the power of God in intervening in the world. - The expectation that God would overthrow the rule of Rome and help restore the independence of Israel, was important for many Jewish groups at this time including the Jesus follower community in Jerusalem. * Importantly, for the early disciples of Jesus in Jerusalem, God forgives sins. God has a covenant with the Jewish people and they are heirs of the prophets. - What Peter was sharing/witnessing was a sect of Judaism which included following the law. - In Acts 21:20 the early disciples of Jesus in Jerusalem told Paul; *”You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law”* * There is a division between the sharing/witnessing by the observant Jewish followers of Jesus in Jerusalem and what Paul was preaching outside of Israel. - What the Jerusalem community believed about Jesus became a heresy for the Paul dominated Churches in the Roman Empire. - What Paul believed about the Jewish law, as described in Galatians, and what he shared in Acts 22, was considered to be unacceptable to the Jewish community in Jerusalem as shown in Acts 22. As a result Paul was thrown out of Jerusalem. * So, there is a division between what is being shared/witnessed. - Observant Jews in Jerusalem who followed the Jewish law and who believed that Jesus was a human prophet and that he was taken to heaven and that he might be a future Messiah; those Jews were not evicted from Jerusalem. - Those who followed Paul’s teachings who believed that Jesus was a semi-divine being and that the Jewish law was a curse (Galatians), those people who shared/witnessed that, were thrown out of Jerusalem.

Therefore, to gain the respect of others, you must first truelly respect that others' beliefs are equal to your own. Indeed that your beliefs, to become higher, must first be lower. How else are you lifted up without leaven? Believe not that you are righteous, for everything is weighed in the balance. Q: Do you love Christians? Do you invite Christians to your home and prepare food for them? Q to Christians: Do you love Jewish Nation and Jewish People? Do you invite Jewish people to your home and prepare food for them, in that way? In truth I tell you, if you are a Jew, if you are as loving and as forgiving, as accepting and as embracing as a Christian, then you shall truelly find Moshiach. For those that perform mitzvah every day and know it is a mitzvah, you serve God, but those lambs that love the entire world without even knowing what a mitzvah is, I tell you this day, they have already entered the Kingdom and I walk on earth in their place. @Chris Massey; In looking at my notes, I know you and I have had several debates in the past. I am not trying to start a new one. You as a fundamentalist Protestant Christian and me as a person who has beliefs, which I am told are consistent with Judaism, are never going to agree. - Therefore, I’ll say my view, and then I am willing to agree to disagree, and move on. * In my years of Christian studies, I tried going back to earlier sources, as well as I could, to find information about the historical Jesus. Meaning, what did Jesus say and do while he was alive on earth? Nothing that Jesus wrote survives. Much of the New Testament was written by Paul who never met Jesus while he lived on earth. Of the rest of the New Testament, much of that is influenced by Paul, who again did not know the historical Jesus. As a result, the accuracy of what Jesus said “out of his own mouth” can be questioned and to me requires study of the New Testament to find sentences which were not influenced by Paul. - The method of doing this, for me, is to look at Judaism (the Hebrew Scriptures) to find the earliest possible words in the New Testament which are consistent with Judaism (Hebrew Scriptures). In that process I noticed that later writings are often very inconsistent with Judaism (Hebrew Scriptures). - As a result, I reject the vast majority of the New Testament as inaccurate about the historical Jesus. * My conclusion; I believe that Jesus was a human being, who practiced Judaism which was consistent with versions of Judaism which existed in his time. I look at Judaism (the Hebrew Scriptures) and the New Testament and see what is consistent between them. Therefore to me, what is true in the New Testament are the parts consistent with Judaism (Hebrew Scriptures). I may also consult historical sources from the time as reference about the historical figures which either influenced the New Testament or who are mentioned in the New Testament.

Some Jesus followers were persecuted but it was very small numbers. - It was the Romans who wiped out most of the Jesus followers in Israel who followed the law and the Romans killed over a million observant Jews who did not follow Jesus. - The Romans also killed Jesus. * But the New Testament writers and Christian leaders didn’t want to blame Rome for all this killing. Church leaders over the centuries did their best to cooperate with the Romans. The Christian leader strategy was to take over the Roman Empire from within which the Church eventually did. * After the Nicene Creed Church became the official religion of the Roman Empire, Christian leaders convinced Emperor Constantine to pass laws in 329 CE which prohibited mixed marriages (between Christians and Jews) and punished by death conversion of Christians to Judaism.

If the Written Torah clearly states that we are not to add or take away from the Torah, who gave the Rabbis permission to add to it to protect it? I am confused. The statements in the Written Torah seem pretty clear. Here is multiple witnesses that say not to, so why do the Rabbis claim differently? No offense and any replies are appreciated. Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Pro 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. This is an article from Chabad explaining the Oral Torah. They don't say who gave the Rabbis permission to add to it. 3. Edicts (Gezayrot): The rabbis constantly added gezayrot according to the needs of their timesThe Torah3 authorizes the rabbis to protect the word of the Torah through making "Gezayrot" (edicts). For example: The Torah prohibition of eating or possessing chametz (leavened products) on Passover begins at midday of the fourteenth day of Nissan. Our sages added two hours to this prohibition, for they feared that on a cloudy day people would err and eat chametz after noon.

@@hrvatskinoahid1048 Thanks for replying. Who gave the Rabbis permission to replace the priest? It is not explained in any of the Written Torah writings. It seems no different from the modern church claiming that the Pastor is now a priest, and the church building is now the Temple. They have used this claim to justify tithing (money only), which cannot be done and is no longer required as their is no Priesthood or Temple. I appreciate your response, I just fail to see the difference between the 2 claims. Thanks Deu 17:9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment: In Judaism, a priest (kohein) is a descendant of Aaron and is responsible for performing various religious rituals and sacrifices in the Temple123. The Hebrew word for "priest" is kohen, and it is used in reference to the Aaronic priesthood34. The priesthood was hereditary and transmitted exclusively to male descendants of Aaron of the tribe of Levi2. In modern times, there is no functional priesthood in Judaism, and the role of the priest has been replaced by the rabbi, who is a teacher and sufficiently educated in Jewish law and tradition to instruct the community and answer questions regarding halakhah15.

So this word was the only possible word, But not in Isaiah 7 since it was the wife of Isaiah who would got her second son and gave him the name Emanuel. But Matthew felt that the situation was very likewise and there for he reference to Isaiah. In a literally level it is not correct, but in Matthew interpretations it was possible to refer this to Isaiah. How shall a Jew look at this? First keep to the literally text and understand that the lower levels gives opportunity to interpret it differently, So in that level you can sometimes not know witch interpretation is correct if you not at the same time hold on to the literally text. You shall never leave the literally text.

We analyse it with endless commentaries and commentaries on those commentaries and have others who wrote their own compilations who argue and differ with him that we revere as well. It certainly doesn't surprise us that a christian wouldn't like some of the things he says. That is because christianity is the antithesis of Judaism and is not the Rambam's fault

Pagan religions of the time, such as those associated with the Roman predecessors, the Greeks, were steeped in mythology and superstition. Their manufacture of religious icons and heroes included the likes of Dionysus, whom they believed was the “Son of God.” They also attributed miraculous qualities to these figures such as virgin birth, vicarious atonement through martyred death, and later RESURRECTION. Paul, who adopted a Greek name to appeal to his gentile audience, was clearly influenced by these beliefs as he wrote a good portion of the New Testament that is almost exclusively dedicated to the “miracle-laden” life and deeds of Jesus. The Christian Scriptures, in fact, are often identified as the Greek New Testament, as it was originally written in that language. Despite Jesus’ pronouncement (Paul never met Jesus personally), “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel,” (Matthew 15 : 24) Paul took his message to the gentiles. (The truth of the matter is that he was woefully unsuccessful with converting Jews to his Jesus movement) Cognizant that the rigors of Judaism were an impediment to conversion, he made the process of becoming “Jewish” extremely easy. He abolished the need for circumcision, professing a belief in Jesus supplanted the performance of Mitzvot, and one merely had to dunk in water (Baptism) in order to join! Furthermore, Paul preached that the slightest infraction against the Torah was tantamount to violating the entire Torah, therefore the only way to be redeemed was to admit that one hasn’t the power to do good and most accept the vicarious atonement offered by the blood of Jesus. Here are the major religious philosophies and beliefs that Paul “invented”: • Suspension of circumcision as a prerequisite for “conversion” to Judaism • Vicarious (or transfer of guilt) atonement through belief in the resurrected body of Jesus. • Abrogation of basic Jewish practices such as observance of the Sabbath and Holidays, Kashrut, and family purity laws. • Belief that one could not achieve the “Kingdom of Heaven,” through righteous deeds, unless one also believed in Jesus as the Messiah and god. • Concept of the Trinity or tripartite godhead that consists of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. • The claim that the Messiah had to die and be resurrected from the dead. These form the major tenets of most of Christendom to this day.

Thank you. Jesus came to return worship to El Elyon, not to be the predicted Messiah. He truly is only the Christian Messiah, and never ahould have been considered by anyone as the jewish messiah. But yall knew that. Lol

I left Christianity, after researching truth. It was crushing, but facts dont care about my feelings. I then thought, I cant go thru this again before turning to Judaism . So i researched once again, and unfortunately, I found out that Judaism is also a false, copied from ancient texts thousands of years prior to Judaism. I would be a hypocrite to acknowledge one and ignore the other. However i have found, that in those ancient texts, that Judaism is based on, in Hebrew was well as 3 other languages, are the word for God is written in the same code found in our DNA. Our creator is in all of us, as i have always thought. Judaism had is slightly right Further research to come.

The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other. With their own eyes they saw, and with their own ears they heard, as the Divine voice spoke to them, and also they heard God saying, "Moses, Moses, go tell them the following ..." They did not receive the occurrence of that event and accept it as some claim or tradition of an individual, but they experienced it themselves. That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah. That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings.

  • @pmac_
    @pmac_ Жыл бұрын

Rabbi Tovia Singer lacks a perceptive heart, typical if his own people. Isaiah 6 [9] And HE (the LORD of hosts) said , Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. [10] Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Matthew 13 [13] Therefore I (Yeshua) speak to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. [14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias (6:9,10), which says, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: [15] For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. [16] But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. [17] For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them. Luke 24 [25] Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: [26] Ought not Christ (moshiach ben david) to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? [27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. It’s not a matter of exact transcription from the Hebrew scrolls in exact order and in every detail. Perception is required, with a heart that is open to Hashem’s ongoing work in bringing salvation to his people.
