Piedmont Columbus Regional hospital staff and the Troup County School System hosted a high school graduation ceremony on Friday for Anja McCord, 17, a Callaway High School student medically unable to attend her graduation. She was recently hit by a car, according to a press release from Piedmont.
McCord wasn't able walk across with her classmates at Callaway's graduation ceremony. Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown staff who were caring for her contacted the school system and organized a surprise graduation ceremony with school system officials and her family.
