    I just started golfing 2 months ago. I also started with the Edge set. So far I've added a 50° and 58° wedges, and upgraded the driver to a callaway paradym (Father's Day gift). So far I'm shooting mid-90s and liking the clubs. Not sure what I should add to the bag next, might be a 5i and 4i.

    Ive got the regular flex and yes stiff is hard to find. Costco Edge set is pretty much a Costco exclusive. Sometimes you can find on Amazon but usually at a higher price. I would also try Costco’s web site

    Would you recommend a regular or stiff flex for a beginner? I'm 31 and don't think my swing speed would be too slow, maybe off the start but just trying to figure out if i would notice a huge difference between the two

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    Thats pretty tough to gauge without more info. Regular flex suits many golfers and is also usually helpful for beginners. As your skills improve so will your swing speed and sometimes that can push you into a stiff flex. Faster swings, more athletic individuals may need stiff right off the bat. Best thing is to seek some professional help from a local fitter or retailer. Thanks for watching 👍

    In my opinion, its absolutely worth it! You get premium quality and performance without the premium price tag. I know its still a nice chunk of change but for what you get with the set, I think the value is out of this world. Thanks for watching! 👍

    This was my first set of clubs like 2 years ago and I had the same issue. I replaced the SW with the lazrus wedge set from amazon. It's a 52, 56, and 60. I still use the PW though since I don't really chip with it.

    Hi, Thanks for your in depth reviews of the set. I am new to golf and considering a first set. At 6 foot 1 (186cm), do you think this set will be a good fit for me? Thank you in advance.

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi, welcome to the best game ever. At six foot one you’re not in the targeted off the rack group. The average clubs are really built for the 5’7 to 5’11 crowd (roughly) My suggestion is find a fitter who can take your wrist to floor measurement before making a purchase. Some folks at that height will need longer clubs. I am 6’2 and prefer inch longer then standard. For many years I got by buying off the rack but getting fit is the smart way to go especially for us taller folks. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 👍

    Hi@@bestgolfnoob, appreciate the reply. Thanks, about time I got my priorities in life straight :) Ok would have been nice and easy to get something off the rack, but i'll take your advice.

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    6 ай бұрын

    Theres still a pretty good chance you could get off the rack. All depends on your wrist to floor measurements

  • @enjoythejourney4386

    @enjoythejourney4386

    6 ай бұрын

    That's coming in around 35.5~36" (self measured) based on some Google graphs it recommends adding +0.25" would you say that is correct?@@bestgolfnoob and would that be very noticable compared to a standard sized club?

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    6 ай бұрын

    .25 sounds about right for that measurement if memory serves. .25 will feel like normal off the rack, you probably won’t notice much difference in terms of feel but the performance might be a smidge better. Also if its just adding a quarter inch you should be able to get by off the rack if you so choose. A pro fitters advice is still best but I think your more then likely barking up the right tree. Standard or plus a quarter inch in your irons. P.s. No need to add length to any clubs except irons and wedges.

  • @Donovanhikes
    @Donovanhikes4 ай бұрын

    I’m a newbie, do the irons need to be a certain length for your height?

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    4 ай бұрын

    So golf clubs off the rack for men normally fit folks between 5’8 and 5’10. If you’re outside of those dimensions then you might want to consult a fitter before making a purchase.

    Stiff flex, regular flex or graphite?* I’m new

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    3 ай бұрын

    Without more info, its tough to say. Generally speaking beginners and players with slower swings will benefit from regular flex. More athletic golfers with faster swing speeds will benefit from stiff flex. Also as beginners improve their skills, sometimes their swing speed will come up enough to require a stiff flex. Best advice is to seek an experienced club fitter or seek advice from a reputable golf retailer near you. 👍 Thanks for watching.

    Yes sir you are correct. Its my bad for not doing my due diligence. 56 degrees is just so common for a sand wedge especially in boxed sets. Kind of cool that Callaway broke the mold there a bit. Thanks for pointing out the error and thanks for watching. 👏

    would you recommend the graphite or regular flex

  • @bestgolfnoob

    @bestgolfnoob

    Ай бұрын

    Depends on your swing speed and transition. Tough to say without knowing your swing. I suggest an experienced fitter. Graphite can also be had in stiff or regular flex. Graphite is lighter then steel and that can sometimes help. Im not trying to dodge the question but without knowing more about your swing its tough to say. Generally slower swing speeds will benefit from softer flex and lighter shafts. Faster swings benefit from stiffer heavier shafts. Hope that helps.
