Call of the Wild is the story of Buck, a magnificent dog who is stolen from his idyllic life and sold for use on a Yukon dogsled team. His travels are not only of a physical nature, as he learns hard discipline from men who must discipline their dog teams, but his own journey back to his primordial roots in the frozen tundra - the roots of wolf. This amazing story of transformation is beautifully written and provides a glimpse of the hard life in the Yukon Territory during the 1900s.

Warning! If you were an animal lover don’t read this book. It turns brutal without warning. I know it’s a classic but it doesn’t mean it’s worth suffering the damage.

Thank you Audiobook and narrator Michael Scott for splendid presentation of "Call of the Wild', which I read as a child in Polish as "Zew krwi" and it fired my imagination and desire for adventure. It still stirs up emotions because Jack London's writing is timelessly brilliant.

Who eva is reading this thats still in school LISTEN. I seriously put this on to help me fall asleep at night...im 22. Its literally like listening to rain sounds but on steroids. It literally put me to sleep every reading class. I had to replace the book because of my drool stains. Remember this on your “no sleep” nights

Very good to hear audio book for the pleasure of it. I read the book years ago. I Pitty the students who are listening in haste to push out a meager paper for a class in a few hours. They miss the richness of reading an actual paper text and savoring the read, the story, the emotion and visual pictures that the mind can produce if you allow time to get swallowed in the read. To rush through an audio book if you are fully capable of reading is just very sad but speaks of our society today and the poor unappreciated and antiquated educational system that focuses on numbers or quotas and test scores rather than the growth and enrichment of the human mind and spirit.
