I started with Halo and Half Life, moved to COD 4 and WaW, then hopped on BC2 and became a hardcore BF fan… once MCC got fixed I’ve now been back on my Halo mode and im ready for that Infinite

Same out of the 3 new fps games I’m the most confident in halo. I’ve been a halo fan my whole life and the beta for infinite felt so fun to play. Really looking forward to what 343 has for us.

COD can be fun but gets stale rather quickly. There isn't really any sandbox and dynamic elements in it. There isn't much you can get creative with. It feels as though it was made for people who just want to quickly play a game or two after work. Games like Battlefield and Rainbow Six on the other hand are much more dynamic and have sandbox elements. Which allow you to be creative and do foolish stuff. That's why I like those kinds of games more.

But Battlefield gets extremely boring because the huge maps expands the engagement time especially when players hog up vehicles then on top of that there is literally little customization or anything to work towards outside of unlocking weapons

There is something wholesome and nostalgic about the BF vs CoD rivalry. I remember being back in 8th-9th grade during the BF3 days and half my class being BF fanboys and the other half CoD fanboys and we'd always be at each others throats arguing about it and explaining to the other why OUR game was better. I remember I was a CoD fanboy (not like todays fanboys, not toxic) and on my first meet with Battlefield Franchise was a huge mind blown. it was BF2 it had no Campaign but i was still happy to play BF2. in that Time it never was like CoD MW1 or like MW2 for me, Until the BF3 came out ! the moment I saw BF3 I just fell in love. Huge Multiplayer, gun play, epic only in Battlefield Moments... I just turned to a BF fanboy (again not toxic just lover of the Franchise). But i wish Call of Duty can return to own roots, seems to kind a imposible at this point. Old campaings, old setting, I was dreaming about how would look like the MW4.

Battlefield and CoD are different types of FPS, obviously, but if we're talking strictly sales, CoD wins each and every year. That doesn't mean it's a better series. But statistically, CoD is more accessible because it's a much more controlled and simpler concept (small arena maps with set number of enemies). However, the real winner are gamers: We live in an era where there are different types of FPS that offer different experiences across different eras & settings including BRs that a lot of people seem to like.

battlefield is more suited to sniper gameplay its a keyboard and mouse game 100% its sluggish with a pad .. Cods arcade type action is a good all rounder.

Cod is a better series overall and nobody can disagree with that. Nothing beats black ops 1 and 2 and the og modern warfare series.

Battlefield V: What if…? Mason never figured out what the numbers meant.

Battlefield have always been more exciting. The franchise always took risk to innovate. That being said MW19 was a master piece. For the next few years bf2042 will rule the real multiplayer scene.

I've been playing these two games all my life. I've never seen them as rivals. I just play it to relax, to enjoy myself, to have a laugh, to get angry and to get to listen to some epic background music in my phone while playing to get serious. I just hope on the game and think "hmm, what should I play, Battlefield or Call of Duty." Then proceeds to play both in a single session. Dunno about others though.

Wow, this was actually a really good script. The word-play on display at some points is just amazing. I just wished you would have mentioned Titanfall 2, even if it has not much to do with the topic (At least it was a game from Vince Zampella) but it is still my favorite FPS of all time and any publicity would perhaps give more people the chance to finally experience it later (like I did at the beginning of 2020).

i wouldn’t say got caught, EA inexplicably decided to ship it right in between the two launches.

Still remember when Battlefield 1942 came out and playing the Wake Island map for the first time after playing Counter Strike for a few years. Being able to fly around and use vehicles was amazing

I used to be a cod dude, played cod 4 in the barracks with the boys during down time. Then I got a new squad leader who introduced me to bad company and I instantly dumped cod. Battlefield > cod

Battlefield also doesn’t release games every year. COD has 1 good developer and that’s IW. Without them, they wouldn’t be in this conversation. The real games to pay attention to are Hell let loose and Insurgency. I’m not a fan of HLL, but it’s a brand new style of game for us console players. Insurgency as well. If these games continue to gain traction, who knows what will be next. I think AAA games like Bf and COD are outing themselves with steep MTX and season pass bs. Turning a could-be fun experience into an opportunity to charge the other half of the game they didn’t give us when we purchased already (at full price)

I'm a fan of both franchises but preferred CoD as it had not only the multiplayer to hook me but some of the best single player stories to date. Shame both franchises have gone to shit this day and age though.

The betas for all three were put up against each other and Halo infinite beta did better and was more popular than both of them. BF 2042 looks good but being multiplayer only will hurt it. And cod anyone who buys cod is a sucker.

As a kid I tried to play BF1942 but my PC was just not good enough to run it. I built a gaming pc and bf 2 changed my life.. then bf vietnam… omg

Meanwhile, Medal of Honor watches from a dark corner...

I enjoyed the battlefield beta and if I had to choose between the two. Battlefield would be it.

Battlefield is best played with keyboard and mouse its a dose to get kills with a pad its too slow on consoles ._. if they added the keyboard and mouse option it would help alot .. Cod can be a good all rounder because of its arcade type action . These two games are worlds apart gameplay wise because battlefield is more suited to snipers .

This fall is gonna be great for fps fans.

In 2010 I stayed with my friend at his cousin's place for a few days while visiting LA. He was playing a game on PC on a big TV and it was the first time I ever saw a Battlefield game! I ended up getting BF3 then BF4 then built my first PC for BF4. Still play it a few times year but got tired of waiting for a modern BF. Bought COD: Cold War on PS5 and it's the first one I played online, love it! 120hz and Dualsense triggers and great audio is what keeps me playing but now I'm excited to see what 2042 has in store. Never thought I'd be a COD guy after a decade of BF but now I'm open to enjoying both.

Despite the buggy launch...the ending of the video was great.

For me, I love the CoD games for their campaigns and zombies mode or the equivalent to that, and I love the battlefield games for multiplayer. I cannot stand CoDs multiplayer

Sales dont mean much past a corporate level. Doesnt mean one is better, just more accessible.

Call of Duty was more optimised than Battlefield games. Battlefield games were totally not for potato pc players which creates a big player loss to it.

I never liked the UI and look of BF….. I can see Enemies very clear and the maps are very interesting

I do miss when FPS games would be called a "Halo Killer". Hopefully Infinite can restore Halo to its former glory.
