Somehow you have managed to make Call of Cthulhu - a high-mortality TTRPG that, as a result, doesn't tend to have a lot of repeat campaigns for characters - into a running series with Maggie and Perry and their friends, and I love it. Interspersing them with other campaigns in different TTRPGs gives a really cool balance, and showcases some systems that don't see a lot of exposure, and this channel has more than proven itself worthy of the membership. You're all doing a fantastic job!

I loved that about their first few call of cthulhu adventures, the recurring characters or new but closely related characters added so much to it for me!!

Everytime I see simon in a game of call of cthulhu I'm just waiting for him to say "Hello! I'm proffessor Griswold!"

@@d36class to some extent their different approaches can be explained by this being Maggie and Perry's... third? fourth? Cthulu adventure while the Migginses are brand new to everything spooky. They're roleplaying more than not taking it seriously.

Simon: Sarcastically tells Ravs to try for Spot Hidden whenever possible because it's ALWAYS GOOD. Also Simon: Spends luck on a Spot Hidden and nearly gets eviscerated for his trouble.

Great to see Ravs taking charge of the investigation! Everyone’s got such great chemistry

Harry is also one of the rare types of players. The player is brave enough to do what's needed to be done, thus pushing the narrative forward, yet will stick to the character but also allow some room for the character to develop.

I want to predict that the guests at the door are in fact the player characters themselves, and they too are (and have been) stuck living out the same moments over and over again

Im not ashamed to say after a few drinks i was shouting "GET THE STAKE, GET THE STAKE" at the TV lol. This episode was fantastic

I love how CoC can turn tired character tropes into compelling stories, and flip them. Classic hero traits: bravery, smarts, selflessness, curiousity. All fine ways to find trouble. Whilst handsome and dishonest rats often manage to scurry away. Great fun to watch, looks fun to play

I love Rav’s reaction to the basement spook, just hearing Tom start to describe something spooky and then immediately bolting haha

24:03 This made me lose it with laughter! This is the kind of player collaboration that I dream of happening at my table. Tom's reaction captures my joy perfectly. I love that Lydia and Barry might not have much experience with TTRPG's, but they have plenty of creativity and they manage to pull this off with perfect timing & fluidity, without tripping up. It's seriously, honestly inspiring.

Ever since Tom did CoC on this channel, I've been addicted. I even went back to the older ones, desperate for CoC.

Starting to feel like a broken record but every episode is better than the last. This my favorite weekly vid by far right now. So glad youve gone head first into these rp games because they were always my favorites from your other channel.

Pretty sure this is a classic summoning-gone-wrong. The thing that got summoned has the house covered in an illusion to hide it's actual state of decrepitude, and is either animating corpses or using illusions and magic to kidnapp random passerbys to fill the roles of the family whenever they perish (the original family having died ages ago.) The replacements are crudely brainwashed, with only a shallow recollection of who they "are", and any modicum of challenge to their status quo liable to crack their facade. Whenever one of these stand-ins recalls what happened or the true state of things, they are killed and replaced by the creature.

I think it's still the family but they're trapped ghosts that only semblance of keeping it together is forgetting what happened to them. Anytime they realize they're killed and sort of reset

Definitely on board with the summoning gone wrong part, that ritual didn't outright fail but whatever they contacted wasn't Evangeline and has invited itself in. The second Jeremiah is throwing me a bit on what the deal with the family is though.

I think the family are ghosts but the victims being used by the demon to replace members of the family like some kind of twisted version of house does kinda make sense as the Miggins are the correct age to be both the servants, Lyds character could be the Veronica, and Simon could be August, so I could also see it working that way too.

I caught up on these on the train today and I can't stress enough how good this is. The previous scenarios they've done all had spooky themes, but this one actually has me a bit spooked. Everything from the players to the Tom's DM'ing to the added sounds and music is phenomenal! I can't wait for the next episode!

The screaming voice clips are genuinely so terrifying...

You desperately run through the abandoned hospital, unsure what it is chasing you. You don’t know what happened your friends, the only thing you remember is the screams as they were dragged away by an unknown force. The only sounds that remain are your heavy breathing and your footsteps. But… is it… *your* footsteps that you’re hearing? You stop for a second to decide which way to turn. The sound of the footsteps stops a moment after you. Now you’re sure… it’s close. You turn right, seeing the exit in front of you. Even with the exit right there, it feels so far. Like this entity is playing with you, giving you false hope. Are you going to be this entity’s next victim? Or… are you on a MYSTERY QUEST!

Was around midnight when I got to the locked door bit upstairs and I'm currently watching this with a wooden door literally inches away from me on my right. For some reason I only got the audio on my rightside and to say I nearly pissed myself is an understatement from the noise in the video.

Just came to me, isn’t Mrs. Miggens the same lady they sold knives to and payed off to keep quiet in one of the Yogsquest CoC?

This is definitely the best mystery quest we've had yet

The sound effects added in real had me immersed in the video.

From the moment the Miggens' saw the sarcophagus I thought bodysnatcher shenanigans were afoot! Glad to have that theory proved correct

Damn love the slightly more horror themes in this campaign, my most anticipated series on KZread rn

Absolutely loving this, Tom mixed with the editing makes for just the right level of eerie and unsettling that the party then disassembles with jokes just makes it an enthralling watch

God the opening little ministories are so goddamn good. They always get me right into the mood for a Mystery Quest tm ETA: Wow this episode has _gone places_. Also I'm absolutely loving all the players you're getting for these games, everyone's striking such a good balance between taking things seriously and acting as their characters and stuff, and having a fun, entertaining time, which is a really tough thing to balance IMO.
