Californian Reacts | Platinum Jubilee - BEST MOMENTS!

On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives took place throughout the year, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.
The four days of celebrations included public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.

What a spectacle the Platinum Jubilee was, fantastic all around! I've watched more since reacting to these highlights and all around very exciting and fun to watch. 👑 British or any other nationality, I would like to hear your thoughts on this historical event for Queen Elizabeth II. Favorite part? Most memorable? Made you cry or laugh with joy? Let me know! 🙂 Enjoy!

I served the Crown (RN submarines), considering it to be the bedrock of my future success after leaving. I can’t explain what’s it’s like to watch something like this, it’s just overwhelming. The only time I can compare it to was standing on the casing of HMS Otus, back in 1977, at the Spithead Review. It’s something the British feel and do that’s so succinctly British. You just don’t get it unless you are one. Being a Mick, I’m so very proud they’ve accepted me.

Just like the previous jubilees, when they announced the plans there were lots of comments that it wouldn't be very good, that people weren't going to be interested etc. like the other times, those comments were wrong. It was all tremendously well done and people really wanted to be part of it. I think most people people have great respect for the Queen and the way she has handled the job, even those who are not keen on the institution. Of course nothing is 100%, there are some people who really don't want anything to do with the jubilee. However, My local street party was organised by the street's only republican. The British don't do a lot of open patriotism ( it seems too much like boasting) so occasions like this are a great excuse to express it. I also think that this time everyone was conscious that , by the nature if things, we probably won't have another chance for another big celebration for the Queen.

It was just beautiful! Brought tears to my eyes numerous times. My Grandparents were from England and Ireland so we grew up with the Queen always being a part of our upbringing. After all they have been through this past year I was so happy to see her celebrated for how wonderful she has been, to able to keep such tradition and respect. Was also happy to see the two who have tried hard to bring this family down during hard times notice how their Opinions meant nothing and will mean Nothing in the future, Netflix and spotify must be sick to their stomachs, what a waste.

Monarchy, as the Queen has demonstrated when needed, is indeed a nationally unifying force as you say. She has pulled us together so many times and the words she put together at the height of the COVID pandemic here were heartfelt and so right. She said "We WILL meet again". And did we ever.... No President can be this unifying as they are politically biased by definition. For example can anyone say the USA is in any way unified now?

In answer to your question, Her Majesty's preference for green is no coincidence and it speaks to the cultural significance of the colour itself. It melds beautifully with ideas of spring which the Queen adores, and the colour is often used to signal renewal and harmony, symbolising open-heartedness and, of course, some clover-inspired good luck! Her Majesty deliberately chooses bright colours so that people know she’s there, she needs to stand out for people to be able to say, ‘I saw the Queen!' When Her Majesty arrives somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four… ten to fifteen deep, and everyone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of The Queen's hat as she went past! Thank you for your video and kind words.

Took holidays to watch the whole 4 day event on tv.. could not have missed this wonderful tribute. The jubilee celebrations were a fantastic way to honour our queen. Proud to be British. ,Queen Elizabeth has served our country well in last 70 years, She has been my queen for almost 66 years. One graceful lady.

The sketch with Paddington bear and the Queen was fantastic! Booing megain and just H was the icing on the cake for most british people. We showed them what we felt about the terrible lies they have told about the royal family! Hope you enjoyed it Phillip.! x

It was the PM Boris Johnson and his latest wife that were booed not the wonderful Harry and Meghan...don't blame them for leaving, Charlie made it very clear there wasn't a place for them in the Royal family ...everyone i know hope that the 2 adulterers never get to the thrown. Yes I've lived here in UK all my 70 years and can't help wondering how much this 4 day event cost me from the taxes I pay?

@@caroledwards3465 • Don't fret...the event cost you nothing as a taxpayer, apart from the usual amount of your Council tax that goes to policing. The celebrations were funded by commercial businesses, great and small. For the record, Boris and Carrie did get booed, and, as I'm sure you're perfectly aware, so did Harry and Meghan...very loudly, even though some of the crowd had remained silent but turned their backs to the couple. As for Charles making it clear there was no place for them in the family, how do you know? Have you witnessed their interactions? It has been reported that they visited Charles prior to the Thanksgiving service to ask for more money, and Charles rightly refused. Harry and Meghan were seated in St. Paul's among the non-working Royals as befits their status, and Beatrice and Eugenie were on the same row. It was their own decision to become non-working Royals. It wasn't forced upon them. Considering the false accusations made by Meghan about the Royal Family, which were backed up by Harry, the invitation to join the celebrations shows that the family do still consider the pair as family members...as does the fact that Harry is still a Cousellor of State. The fact that both wore recording devices is the reason why none of the family wanted to say much to them, and I don't blame them. Also, Harry and Meghan also insulted the whole population of the UK when they accused us all of being racists. They have only themselves to blame for the boos. Diana was an adulteress, and began her series of affairs long before Charles and Camilla did theirs.

You should all read less from the right wing media ...and as for Diana have an affair before Charles...he was having the affair before they were even married and it continued and never stopped ( Tampon Gate! )..Charles has admitted it in TV interviews....I think you're racism is showing through with your ,what seems like,, hatred of the lovely Harry and Meghan...think they made the right decision to leave the "firm". I don't think you live in the real world Maureen bet you voted for Trump and live in the USA....Best wishes from the North Norfolk coast UK

I think the country always goes in a little unsure of how much support the jubilees will get but as always it was a huge success and a sign of the continued support and love for the Queen. I had a lovely few days, my highlights were the concert and our street party. The country felt really together for a while, which is probably the main benefit of having a non-political head of state. A very happy 4 days. We await the change that will inevitably come, I don’t think the monarchy will ever be like this again.

I love the Royal Family representing our country for the good of all. We do have a unique history and we should be proud of it especially at times like this when the world seems so turbulent. We can all unite, celebrate the joy and raise peoples spirits.
