California Epic Blizzard of 2024 - Donner Pass & Soda Springs

One of the worst #blizzards I have ever experienced in any part of the nation hit #California for several days. With strong gusts and a lot of snow blowing, Interstate 80 was reduced to a parking lot, leaving hundreds of people stranded. While CHP and CalTrans worked to free everyone stranded on Donner Pass, semi trucks were strewn all over the road. Whiteout conditions and a lot of snow earlier in the day produced traffic jams throughout the pass. We removed a large number of cars.

Did you ever think that some people just didn’t expect the severity of this storm? People have places to go, trucks need to keep on moving. Before you condemn people for getting caught in this storm, look in the mirror and think of the mistakes you’ve made in your life. Maybe then you’ll have a little more sympathy for people and the predicaments they get themselves in to. Unless you’re perfect of course, which by your comment shows us you’re far from it. Grow up!

At least 4-5 weeks every winter is like this and the rest is icy roads and snow for at least 3 month. This winter started early in november and has been loooooooong. 🤪 I really hate this time of year. 🤨

5:53 - 6:02 in video duration, There should be laws against this because the passengers got out of the car to push it while the driver was ramping up the acceleration while a passenger person was attempting to push the vehicle from the side of the vehicle instead of from the back, it looked dangerous and the wheel actually spon in the direction of the person standing there... if the vehicle lost control it would/could have injured his leg badly. #BeCarefulAndBeSafe Seconds from disaster, luckily that wheel didn't get any traction.

How stupid do you have to be to keep driving a highway when you know that there's a storm there thats going to drop 8 - 10 feet of snow? Why would you want to drive where you know its going to be a disaster. People are dumb.
