California City Volvo Amrep Octo Rollin’ Coal

A little while back A few of us headed out to Barstow and California City to find some older trucks. After a little while of driving around in California City we found this Volvo Amrep collecting trash, unfortunately the driver didn’t rev the arm at all but the take offs were pretty sweet!
I am really happy with the way this turn out, especially since the forecast called for heavy wind that day but lucky there wasn’t any!

Although not exciting when it comes to the lift cycles, still a nice truck. I remember some of these trucks running in Manhattan Beach back in 2005. Had he revved more he would of not just made it more fun but would have made enough smoke to give Greta Thunberg and her followers a heart attack! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really like the big logo for those wm trucks and I found a wm Dumpster just like that and how old is that truck😃😃
Well it could be possible that the truck was trying to overheat is why the driver didn't rev maybe so he maybe didn't want to overheat the truck some more than break down sense you can't really rev a overheat engine sense that will blow the engine up than it's off to the scrap yard for this truck. So nice one on catching this truck rolling alot of coal but most like GI Volvo rolling coal this truck may not be staying around much longer before it gets retire or the engine gives out sadly.

Nice to see a old school Volvo running strong in 2020 escaping the junk yard. What's the trash carts system? Green for trash? I thought blue was for trash in those Wm areas.

zp12684 the beginning of 2020 if I remember correctly, and I believe it should still be running but idk if it still smokes like this! Thanks for the comment

Great video dude! One of my favorite videos of these Cali classics in rural to almost middle of nowhere. How old is this truck? The lid flips looked great and I dig the OG logo! Even though this unit probably needs some instant work on the exhaust issue, wouldn’t be surprised if I saw some of those black clouds from TX haha.

Sad thing is you know if they are letting it run like this that they are getting rid of it. Haven't heard anything about this truck so its probably still running.

My god it’s like they said F it and took out the filter. Man I’ve never seen this truck run like this. When you and I filmed it the truck ran great. Fast and smooth. Still seems to be fast on the way down though. Unfortunately seeing them let it run like this tells me they might be getting rid of it. Ahh well awesome video tho!
That truck is Absolutely trash wold hate to drive it
