    Also, Brian, youre one of the kindest and most positive people I have ever seen. You just radiate positivity. Ive been watching you since I was little. Your innoent curiosity has been contagious all these years. You have been a role model for me when I was young. You taught me to never stop being curious and be the best version of myself! You may not have realised this, but you being genuine in the scam school show was as clear as day, I could tell you enjoyed it. I saw this video yesterday and you with the spiky hair and I got nostalgic af. Sorry for the rant, have a GREAT day!

    For a UK number (11 numbers) use the first 4 numbers for the first part of the formula. You should end up with the full number excluding the 07 at the start! Hope this helps

    When I first tried this, it didn't work for me (Slovenia, 9-digit phone number. Technically 8-digit, because they always start with 0 if you don't use the country code 386). Anyway, I still wanted to try the trick, so I followed the trick in reverse (pretty sure this works for any number). So, take your phone number and multiply by 2. Then add 250, subtract the last 4 digits twice, divide by 250, subtract 1 and divide by 80. This should give you the starting digits of your number, up to the last 4. Hope this helps

    I used this when the original episode first came out, but with my own modification. My “secret prediction” I had written down was my own phone number but written in the “0,000,000” format. I had her use my phone and let her type in every step. When it came time to compare the number on the calculator with the prediction, I asked her to divide by 2, and she said it’s still doesn’t match. I then took the phone and pointed at my prediction, saying, “This is actually my number, and (showing her the phone) this is actually your number... (I take a screenshot) ... but now it’s mine.” Works like magic when in a group setting.

    So, I am from Romania, where we have 9 digits numbers (excluding the country code), it works just fine. What I don't understand is how that x(80)+1 there works.

  • @gn4gy

    @gn4gy

    4 жыл бұрын

    80*250 = 20,000. The plus 1 is responsible for adding 250, that we subtract later. Because of the 20,000 we have to divide by 2 for it to be 10,000.

    ok maybe,.. last time I watched you it was at a time when South Park made a joke about "Internet money" and people with videos with a few million views waiting at KZread headquarters or something trying to get their internet money, and the joke was that no one actually made money. Nowadays, a lot of Youtbuers are into clickbaiting in a way or another to increase revenue, but this channel still has the spirit of the pre monetization era IMO

    For all international people who might need a bit of help Here they used the first three digits and last four digits but that is because American numbers have 7 digits. So to use this trick instead of first 3 digits use all digit up to the last 4. For example INDIAN NUMBERS 10 digits so use first 6 digits GERMAN NUMBERS 14 digits so use the first 10 digits Hope this helps

    just tried with 14 digit number, got back the same one... instead of first 3 digits u need to use the first 10 and the last 4, should theoretically work with any amount of digits as long as you use all the digits prior to the last 4

    Dev Patel x is the start of the phone number, missing out the last 3 digits, say for example 231. You get them to multiply by 80, add 1, and multiply by 250. This is the same as getting them to multiply by 80, then by 250, and then adding on 250. 80*250=20,000=2*10,000. This means you're getting them to shift the start of their phone number along by 4 places so they are where they should be, and then doubling it, and adding on 250. In the example before, you would now have 4620250. But we're about to subtract the 250 anyway, so really we have 4620000. Now we add on the last 4 digits y, say 4312, twice. This means we add on 2*y, to get 4624312. Or, we have 2*x stuck to 2*y. Divide the whole number by 2 and hey presto, the phone number appears!

    I can't believe people are fooled by tricks like this. He says that he doesn't want to do stupid things like "add 100, subtract 100, there's your number", but what he did here was just as transparent. As soon as he said "add 1, multiply by 250", you know a "subtract 250" is coming.

    These type of math/number tricks where you get someone to add and subtract stuff don't really impress me, because I know it's just math, not "magic and sorcery." I mean it'd probably impress people who don't really understand math... Although, perhaps it could get people interested in math if they don't like it...
