Pararparaver it's because atoms are at 1/4 of the diagonal, so that they went 1/4 way in the perpendicular axes.. try to draw it on your own and you'll understand. It's just simple geometry

cuz diamond is a combination of two interpenetrated lattices. dat red colour atom she drew was at a point of (1/4,1/4,1/4) .with respect to that corner atom.
