First time kayak fishing Calcasieu Lake (Lake Charles, LA). I managed to snag and tag a few redfish plus flounder and more!
Жүктеу.....

I fish, and live in the area where you caught the reds and was being curious. Thanks for the great videos and I hope you catch many more!!

Great content. Do have a general location of where you are at? Like North, South of the lake? Also what bait are you using and approx depth of water. Thanks

Thanks! This trip I launched my kayak at Hebert’s Landing and headed north fishing structure and any cuts that I came across. I was using gulp shrimp, matrix shad and some dead shrimp. At low tide it was really shallow.

I have trouble landing some of those bigger Reds in my Bass boat. I cant imagine how hard it is in a Yak. Nice job.

Thanks buddy, it’s always an adventure out there and that’s what I love about it.

Why are you tagging the reds??

Good question. If I’m not planning on eating a fish that week, I’m releasing it. Tagging helps researchers track populations. If you catch a tagged fish you can note the tag #, location you caught it and call the phone # on the tag for a free hat or shirt (you don’t have to cut the tag or keep the fish). I get more out of just being on the water going on an adventure than anything else.
