Caitlyn Jenner says trans athletes cause ‘physical harm’, backs Nassau County ban in girls sports

Ex-Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner on Monday backed Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s edict banning transgender athletes from competing against biological girls in competitive sporting events held at the county’s 100 ballfields and athletic facilities.
Jenner - arguably one the world’s most famous trans public figures - said that biological males should not be allowed to compete in female sports in order to “protect the integrity of competition.”
“Trans women are competing against women, taking valuable opportunities for the long-protected class under Title IX, and causing physical harm,” said the former athlete, né Bruce Jenner, who won the 1976 gold medal for the decathlon and famously appeared on the cover of the Wheaties cereal box.

@@Nosweat99 I get what you're saying. It isn't fair, either, that trans women (and men) don't have a level playing field for themselves. I agree with you, and I think it is unfair to not be able to compete safely for them, as well, as they wouldn't be safe in their biological class if they are in the process of medically transitioning and simply aren't in that class anymore. I think what they are saying is that it, also, isn't fair to bio women to compete against people who are in a tiny class above, similar to how it is for trans men in sports. The problem is that they aren't pushing as hard for a solution for those excluded, and exclusion is damaging. Everybody needs a league of their own. How to do this without outing everyone will need some research and collaboration, but there needs to be a place for everyone to get to compete before they are excluded and that would be through being loud and proud and being out, at first, because I doubt we can come together quickly enough to figure out a way to be more discreet. So there needs to be an acceptable start up off the ground and running to avoid sexism or discrimination, which hurts people. I get it. We need that set in place first. I think too many trans men are pushed out of the sports that they love because they don't have a level playing field. Imagine getting to have a space for everyone to get back into the magick of sports. But, never, ever by stepping upon the dreams of another, nor by riding upon the coattails of the decades of hard work put in by another in order to have that fair step below class.
