    1. Unprecedented shooting range with lightning like trigger (never seen before in the women's game). Needs to develop additional counter moves off the dribble to create space against elite defensive guards (see Curry, Doncic, Harden). Her coach needs to run more sets to get her looks off doubles, staggers, and pin downs....maybe someone on her team will eventually learn how to screen effectively. 2. Elite passer with great vision and court awareness. Deadly passing up on the break. Masters the lost art of angling for and executing passes into the post. Getting better each game on pick and roll action. 3. Developing very rapidly into a great floor general who gets the ball to scorers and allows all to eat. 4. Very good defensive rebounding guard. 5. Needs to cut down on turnovers even though a fair percentage of them result from teammates being unready or unable to handle her passes. Still too many unforced errors. Needs to learn how to stretch and split traps and blitzes. 6. Needs to make a greater commitment to defense. There, I did it for Smith, who knows VERY LITTLE about the technical aspects of the game.

  • @fulanspeaks7319

    @fulanspeaks7319

    6 күн бұрын

    @@oldschoolsaint Your assessment is fair though I wouldn’t call her elite in passing or rebounding. She is elite in the full court transition game. In half court, her passing needs to improve but I do think that will improve as she adjusts more to the speed of the game. Right now she has a 6-5 Turnover ratio and you know that can’t continue if she wishes to be a true floor general. Coach Sides and Aliyah Boston needs more credit for what they have done to help her game over the last 4 though.

  • @oldschoolsaint

    @oldschoolsaint

    6 күн бұрын

    @@fulanspeaks7319 Fair assessment. The turnovers are going to go down relatively quickly. She's learning. And let's remember the circumstances under which she entered the league. What rookie in league history has ever faced that sort of defensive attention out of the gate....with no practices and a ridiculously top heavy schedule. I really like her 1/2 ct. passing though. Yup she forces things at times and tries too often to thread the needle. But I love the bigger guards wo can make aggressive defenses pay by cross courting the ball to open shooters like she did a couple of times last night. Wanna see more of that. As for the rebounding....she gets the fact that most guards covering her are not going crash the boards and that it's easier for her to push the ball when she gets grabs as opposed to waiting for the ball to be outlet to her. It's nice to see that some here know basketball and are not speaking out their azz. Thanks.

    Angels not a household name without cc . Wnba is not growing without cc and angel is dumb af because she's out here lookin like boo boo the jealous petty fool and in interview caitlin says nothing of her . Oh she said what ? Cc didn't hear it . That foul? It's basketball I'm just here to play basketball. She conducts herself so well and these women just look like foul little roaches fighting for some shade . Pathetic. Angel isn't selling out arenas she's just not . Maybe if she focused more on selling herself and improving her game rather Han stomping her feet cause boohoo they like her better she'd gain more positive interest in her and her game would improve . Leave the trash talking on the court

    Clark got a banner in front of Wilson angel all over Chicago not the same. Angel was a house hold name before Clark stop the press. Her nil deals and following was at million before that championship. She just broke the double double record record in college. She was already front runner for the ncaa tournament mvp which she won . Like stop minimizing some one to lift some one up . True Clark got her fans, just like labron got his fans kd got his fans also so do Steph , she don’t need Clark her fans was coming regardless. WNBA might not had a lot of the ratings but believe me if hype wasn’t around cc it be around the sky. There’s always a story . Just Clark’s was most popular that the media wanted to push. Reese came 2nd. Jersey sold out they on back order just like Clark’s . Stop the minimizing.

    I really don't understand this fascination with these WNBA rookies when there are clearly much better players in the league. It doesn't make sense. You could point to race, but Stewie is white and A'ja is black if they want to go there. If it has to do with looks, Skylar Diggins and Elena Delle Donne (I know she's not playing this year) look better than these two in my opinion and they didn't get half the attention that these two are getting when they were drafted. If it has to do with sexuality, Diggins is straight and Elena wasn't out when she was drafted. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it has to do with the NBA product going downhill and now they're looking for an alternative when it comes to basketball. That's the only thing I can think of.

    I’ve really come to like Angel Reese over the last several games. Did not like some of her early soundbites, where she came off like just another one of these resentful WNBA long-timers, but she really has found a personal brand that works well and honestly amplifies what’s already happening with the Caitlin Clark effect, across the league. It would have been awesome enough just having Caitlin Clark elevate the public interest in the WNBA, this year, but when you have a rival like Angel Reese, with the fanbase and audience that she brings into it - man, what a great time to be a fan of the game of basketball. I really hope this game breaks records. Sounds cheesy, but I’m rooting for both of these young talents.🥂
