Hey! It's Dan! I miss the car content, but I understand that other things take priority over making youtube videos. Looking forward to your upcoming highway mpg video. A huge portion of the population is addicted to caffeine. If you work in sales, especially vehicle sales, it's pretty bad. Everybody is pounding Monsters, Bangs, and Redbulls. I have HBP and that stuff wrecks me. I had to switch back to regular hot brown caffeine. I've been drinking half-caff to try and reduce my intake. I find I mostly like having a warm coffee flavored drink to sip on.

I have the same problem. And some very difficult conditions that make it harder to quit: 1) I have ADHD and caffiene is a great partial solution to my scatter brain. 2) I have a cyp1a2 abnormality where i metabolize drugs like caffiene ultra slowly. 3) I'm a computer programmer for a living. As a result of #2, i have rapid tolerance accumulation and sleep issues from a single dose of caffiene within 15 minutes of waking. What i do is cycle caffiene and do a controlled crash over the weekend. I also take rutaecarpine during the week because it metabolizes the caffiene very quick and helps me sleep. During the weekend i take a herbal antidepressant, rhodiola rosea, and it helps greatly with the depression and zombie-levels of energy that the crash creates. I start monday on a small cup of coffee and it gives me a great zing. By friday, i'm up to 4 cups, and ready to crash and repeat the cycle. Not fun.. but necessary!

Try half caffeine at first then decaf after that. First get off of that ultra caffeine stuff. It takes time but you can get there! Glad to see you back on here. I loved your mpggomatic hyper mpg videos!

I am really struggling with caffeine addiction as well. I am in high school with adhd and caffeine helps me a lot with lack of motivation and focus. On top of that I am in the gym 6 days a week so I take caffeine before the gym because it improves my workout performance greatly. Caffeine helps me a lot with a lot of things but it’s also my worst enemy because if I go 24 hours without it I will feel depressed, and have a massive headache. Thinking about going on a detox but I just don’t know how I would keep my grades up and stay in the gym if I felt like shit.

Cut your dosage down gradually and switch to green tea and/or yerba mate. I went cold turkey for 3 weeks(no caffeine from any source including chocolate). Best way to reset your body and only have 1-2 cups!
