CAF Story | The Happiest Man in the CAF

“I’m the happiest man in the Canadian Forces, because I’m living my dream.”
Growing up in Africa, Master Seaman Héris Lokombe was inspired by the Canadian peacekeepers and dreamed of being a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. After he spent four months in prison in Zimbabwe, Canada’s embassy came to his aid, and after some time in Canada, he was able to realize his childhood dream

This guy pretty much sums up my feelings about beautiful Canada. Proud to work for DND (I am only a civilian) and be a public servant for Canada, the country that has welcomed me and improved my quality of life.

You're a wonderful young man and I'm proud that you are a Canadian. Never mind the braying of a few racist jackals trolling young sir.

79tazman my dear! As you probably know, in Canadian Federal government, you have choice to speak in your first language. In my case it's French. But trust me, even if my English will never be perfect like yours, i'm trying to improve it every day.

@@herislokombe9490 I hope to learn French when I join and become a sailor soon. I am 2nd gen and from Africa as well. Do the forces provide opportunity for language learning?
