What a magnificent castle! I really enjoyed the tour and learning about the castle's history. How sad that Eleanor gave birth to so many children who were stillborn or died young. Nice to know that her son survived and that Eleanor and Edward were devoted to each other. The moral of the story is "don't be a terrorist!" 😂 Very poignant to see footage of our recently departed Queen and to learn about more recent events connected to the castle. I appreciated your lovely tribute. Nice tour of the town and harbour too. 🙋‍♀🙋‍♀💖

Loved this video. I worked in Caernarfon in the 80s and often had my lunch sitting on the quay by the castle. My cousin who was killed on the Somme in 1918 is one of the soldiers on the display of fallen soldiers. On the day you filmed the video I was travelling to London after being one of 200 ordinary people who had been honoured in the Platinum Birthday Honours and were invited to attend the State Funeral. It was amazing to be part of history and be in Westminster Abbey.

Lovely tour of the castle and the town. I have always enjoyed visits here. I was 12 when I first visited and yes, I am old enough to have watched the Investiture on TV. Loved your tribute to Her Majesty. The events around the funeral and the Proclamations really were a really absorbing glimpse into our heritage and the traditions that surround an accession as well as the funeral. It was absorbing but also very emotive. We have visited Caernarfon so many times and the places you highlighted were familiar but also great to see. Oh, and all my rulers were 12 inches. Thanks for a nice tour.

Cheers Ivor! Yes, it was a lovely visit, but did have a certain sadness to it due to everything that had happened the previous week. We were there for hours and could have stayed longer. The castle really looks amazing. I agree those stairs look pretty narrow to walk on. I enjoyed seeing harbour and all the boats and sea-faring things on display. 😁 I agree, a battery charger is a must with my old phone or when backcountry camping.

Hello guys, that piece in the eagle tower looked beautiful, what a nice way to capture and show the history. Very sad that so many of their children didn’t survive. Some beautiful views looking out of the castles windows when you were higher up. Those stairs do look steep 😅 I can imagine the atmosphere there with queen Elizabeth’s recent passing. A lovely little tribute that you gave to her in this video. That shot of the castle from across the harbour was beautiful.

My dearest friends! I truly understand your almost lost feeling, and the depth of a grief for a loss as important as that of Queen Elizabeth II. But believe me and I guess you've seen it, the whole world has mourned the loss of her. For us non-Brits, Your Majesty was, ... THE QUEEN. And that was enough. She was the Queen. She had always been in our lives and we have all seen over the years how much her work of hers has been of profound and total devotion, love and righteousness. She must have been really emotional and, I understand, also very sad, to find you there just the day before her funeral and in such a deep and heartfelt moment of national mourning. But perhaps, also for this reason, an even more exciting and important view. The Castle is a real wonder, as you said, Rach, a real masterpiece! I LOVE the Castellio, each one tells a unique story and this really tells a very important story from the past but also from a recent past. I also loved the old town, so characteristic with all those little restaurants where you can stop for a break. Yours was so beautiful and the food looked absolutely inviting !! Thank you very much for this beautiful video. In fact, a real testimony, in this particular historical moment. My BIGGEST embrace, guys and have a WONDERFUL week My big thumbs up! Renata

Hi Rach and Wills, we loved this tour of Caernafon castle, been a few years since we last visited but we remember being so impressed by the scale of the place, it's massive!😳 🏰. Thought the exhibitions were fascinating, very sad that so many of Eleanor's children did not survive, with the first being when she was just 13 years old, times were very hard back then😔. We genuinely learnt something about the foiled terrorist attacks at the investiture, that's shocking! 😳. But as you said "don't be a terrorist!" 😆👍. Was amazing to see the footage of our now king so young, and what a beautiful tribute to our Queen🥰👌. Great tour of the town after too. We really loved that guys, nice to see you both back in Wales enjoying yourselves again. Have a fab week, Shell and Pete😊👊

We love Caernarfon. Such a beautifully intact Castle that seems to have defied time. So much we didnt know about the Castle, Charles and terrorists. Fascinating. The castle is really stunning! It's a real fairytale picture book castle and the it seems the historic displays are well done. I didn't realise this was the castle where the Prince of Wales investitures took place, there's actually only been 2, as previous Princes of Wales just got declared and that was it! It will be interesting to see if Prince William has one as he's much older that Edward VIII who was a teenager at the time and Charles who was as well. (Edward VIII apparently hated that he had to wear the white stockings and britches! Charles went 'no to both!')

Thanks for watching. It certainly is such a historical place. Word on the street is that William won’t have his investiture there. I think King Charles is all about a more streamlined less extravagant monarchy, and the Welsh don’t like an English Prince of wales!! I think it will be done quietly in Cardiff, but we’ll wait and see! We enjoyed reading about the tights and britches in the Prince of Wales exhibition. I don’t blame them, they’re pretty grim! Cheers (omg the welsh news has just started talking about Williams investiture!! Latest news, people not supporting a big ceremony!). Have a great week 🍻

Thanks so much for watching. The spoons are called Love Spoons. All the handles are carved with different symbols on them, different symbols mean different things. A heart is true love, a knot is lives entwined together - there are many more. A man is supposed to carve a spoon for his love out of a single piece of wood, I am, needless to say, still waiting for one from Wills! The castle did feel really peaceful that day and with the flowers and the flags at half mast it did feel quite sad. It’s certainly a time of change here at the moment. Thank you so much for watching. Oooh I was hoping you'd go to the Bar Bach. Anyway, back to the rest of the video. I've thoroughly enjoyed my return to Caernarfon. And I can honestly say, I learnt a lot more about the castle as well. Mind you a castle that big must contain LOTS of history. Far more than one can put in an egg cup. I drove down there many years ago to visit the castle. I loved the countryside, although being an English tourist, the locals weren't very friendly. Downright rude, but I enjoyed the trip.

Fabulously interesting and beautifully showcased. Terrific work you two. Poor Charles 3 might not have the longest reign as king in history but if he became PoW way back in 1969 he'd have to be close to being the longest reigning PoW for some time? We have a town in Western Australia that is coincidently called Carnarvon. Except it isn't spelled the same, nor is it named after Caernarfon (it is named after the 4th Earl of Carnarvon), and it doesn't have a castle either. It does have a big banana though. Not THE big banana but it is big enough for you to notice as you drive past. You might say, ooh heck, that's a big banana. With the affiliate thing I think if someone clicked your link and didn't buy the thing linked I believe you still get some coin if they go and buy something else. So it would be nice if they go nah, I don't need a powerbank, but I will buy that 65 inch Samsung TV though. 😁 So put some affiliate links for all your cameras and mics and stuff. I think your affiliate page on Amazon will help you create short links too.
