@@notme1998 man, i know how american classics are like. But they were made in times when gas was worth less than water, so they could make 8.2L engines without any problems. I know that their V8s are worse than modern... shit, even 20yrs old 4-cyl's, but the way they feel and sound... if you have a ride in a car like this, you know for sure that the day is going well.

At first I thought you where wrong because 76 was the last year of the convertible, however I noticed the front bump extensions where black and the rear tail lights where actually in the fins, both of which where only on the 77-78. How is this eldorado a convertible? Did you convert this car into a convertible, or was this done by that one company in the 70s who converted the 77 -78 eldorados into convertibles with the extra parts.

I thought the same thing too, until I took a closer look at the video. if you read a comment I left awhile ago on this video I go into more detail. It actually might be a heavily modified one. The tail fins lights and front bumper extensions where exclusive to 77-78. However the last year the eldorado had a convertible option was in 76 (until the 80s when they brought it back). This car however is a convertible WITH the 77-78 tail lights and bumper extensions, leading me to believe it was converted into a convertible. There was actually a company back in the 70s that would modify the later years into convertibles with leftover parts.

Quality yes. Quality control? Nope. These were notoriously some of the worst assembled Cadillacs ever made. There are a multitude of stories of people who bought these new, and the doors would literally fall off, etc. GM was dealing with a lot of labor union strikes and such at the time. Honestly, the quality of interior materials and engineering of interior parts wasn't that great either.
