Did the mom have a nice warm near 90 deg F spot? Are the parents siblings or closely related? I have heard theories about why this might happen (kinks) but it is very hard to prove anything. The only kinked baby rosies I have seen before were interestingly also trivirgata. The one with the dimpled head is very cute. I sure hope he/she does well, please update at some point down the road!

Hi 👋 Yes. Mom's hot spot has a range set on the thermostat between 90-91°f. The parents are not related in any way... according to breeder. My thought, after thinking more about it, was that maybe the mom needs a year off to build all her nutrients back up. Or just needs the break regardless. It is interesting that this particular species could possibly have more of an issue having kinked neos. That's the only other kind I have ever seen with kinks as well. I may have to dig deeper into this topic and see what I can find!

@@creaturecove please do! I’m very sensitive to electronic buzzing type sounds and just can’t ignore it enough to listen properly. I tried several sets of headphones but it was on all of them, so I’m guessing it’s the audio (unless someone has another suggestion?)Your snakes are so beautiful and the defects are tragic but very interesting. I would love to learn more.
