We keep pushing through! It's really starting to shape up. Not the way that everyone would build a cabin, but it's how I am doing it. Crazy.

"We are all our own worst enemy. But also, our best teacher." Nice progress! Lovin it!
I loved your conversations with yourself, Graeme! You’re such fun to watch.
Nothing beats ending the worst day of the week with some goodness of the woodness! Love seeing the progress! Keep getting after it!
I had left the channel, and you’ve won me back! Love these builds and figuring out structures with humility and humor.

How dare you!!!!! JK welcome back bud!
Gonna have to finagle whatever goes on the outside between those rafters... Be sure you know how and when scaffolding loses a few feet
I feel all your pains and gains my friend! Job well done. Do your best - glue/caulk/cover the rest! 😂
From a distance it looks like you are building a forestry department Fire-Lookout tower! LOL You should totally add one to your cabin, imagine how great the views!
Glad you reframed those walls. No need to add an unnecessary point of failure.
Maybe Mondays aren’t so bad. Another great watch! 👍🏼
Production values and mirror image, Graeme to Graeme scenes…….. In a word, EPIC!
12/12 is a 45° angle so you don’t even have to read numbers on speed square. Just use the 45° side of your square.

🙌 thank you!
Thanks for addressing the “3 foot on top” question, I was curious about that when watching the last video. It’s coming along great man. Good work!
Bro post more videos, especially vlogs, your channel is treasure
I’m living my dream vicariously through this series …. Keep up the good work man 🙋♂️
Be careful out there. Bring a ladder. I highly recommend putting in some collar ties. Especially if you get any amount of snow.
Excellent build !! What a beautiful spot !! I think it's time to bring up a couple of ladders , 6 footer and an 8 or 10 footer and some saw horses.Your doing a great job !!
Yikes! Great video capturing the "sketchy" (yes you were right, it is sketchy!) height and you struggling not only to not fall off but to get it screwed in! I was holding my breathe! But you did it!!!! Great job!
You'll have straight up loft space with that pitch.
I was screaming at the screen....TOP PLATES! lol....I bet I read and studied for 2 weeks before cutting my first birds mouth last winter. Great job man!!!

Hahahahahhaha I know. So many things to think of and so little time!!!
I have an idea. Why not bring an 8 ft ladder so you don’t have to climb the walls to nail or screw the rafter to the wall. 😊 you are the man! You sure know how to get the job done with no help. 👍
I didn’t know you where a semi professional track star as well….just crushing those hurdles like no one’s biz. Way to keep persevering and moving forward my man!
nice work!
Nice! Keep after it. Seems we’re all having a struggle lately but keep the good vibes.
Wrangling that lumber alone is impressive. Love the videos.
Good at planning or not, THAT was impressive.

It looks to me like it’s coming along just fine. Have you ever thought to just camp out up there?
Well done kid
Vlogging is the great legitimizer of talking to oneself...enjoy your version...great project...great work...great Vlogging...
Amazing progress! The visual at the end was the payoff. Top plate!! 👊🏽 I think you need nails or hangers for the rafters into the ridge. Love the decent into self talk with the mirrored convo. 👍🏾👍🏾
Love the humor.
I wonder what grumpy reverse Graeme would have said during the garage build fiasco ! Good stuff my friend, as always ! Bob's your uncle !
Any plans to add nails to that roof? Considering the load when sheathed and shingled nails are superior to screws when it comes to shear strength.
Keep getting after it! I love to watch the cabin coming together. Very inspirational to me. Keep up the good work.
Great effort Grahem! Coming together!!❤❤
Just stumbled upon your channel. Good stuff. You're doing what I plan to do in the near future and I love seeing peeps getting it done and making their dream happen. And as for the scaffolding, cuts, supports, etc - if it works, it works! Rock on!
One of my favorite places to see some GEWD WEWD. I love when it is made of WEWD!

Dude, that was an awesome video. You’re out there risking your life for a dream, good for you. So much fear in the world, nobody wants to take chances. Well brother that’s not living that’s just existing. Absolutely love the “alter ego”, everybody’s got one, but incorporating it into the video……. Artistic genius. I will look forward to seeing more of the build.

I was thinking the same thing again....... I am like Gram I am in Richmond right down the road I got you......😂😂😂
Keep up the good work and stay safe. ♥️
All those short boards can be used for headers and whatnot.
Great job on the cabin. A lot of progress getting done. Time to bring the Teardrop trailer up for a total work weekend.
The roof i think is the most rewarding part of the framing process!
Killer Video
Makes me want to build a cabin
So far so good
Monday night video. Bonus 👍
It looks like you put your rafters over your studs. That being the case code and engineering says a single top plate on 2x6 or thicker walls is just fine.
"isn't sketchy your middle name at this point?" 😂
Great episode! The wood! The goodness!
splendid, thanks for sharing as always
It was a crappy weekend (family pet passed away) so this will be a nice distraction 👊😎👍

I’m planning on building something similar…no experience so it will be rough I’m sure and I’m 60.😂😊😂 good job you are doing!
Nice!
Love the conversations between you and yourself lol.. I was wondering on top plate also you should be overlapping top plate to tie walls together. And I personally would have spaced your birds mouth out what ever thickness your siding will be, now you'll have to notch around every rafter.. Going to be a cool cabin with a million dollar view
Shouldn’t your top plate corner on the missing wall overlap into the corner that you added the top all the way to the end on? Usually need to shorten the corner by 5 1/2” to allow for locking in the other wall into the corner for an overlapping connection point.
In last episode you promised to have a safety harness dhen climbing. Dont risk it dude!
Nice shout out for wagons! Miss my old VW Jetta wagon. Hauled so much stuff in/on that poor car. Bonus: sounded like your tractor with the TDI engine. 😉
Super cool videos can't stop watching them! Have to force myself away 😅😊 😎 👍

Oh man! And I know the camera does not do any justice to the height of this thing! Be careful out there.
I feel all of your pain lol 🌲 Keep up that good work 🙏🏼 ❤️
Graham, there's nothing wrong with talking to yourself. I have a sign in the "mancave" that says - "Of course I talk to myself, sometimes I need expert advice".

Your clone saw that too, lol , I wanted to ask you about that! Thank goodness (no pun intended) your clone covered that!
Using my son's words, "you are a sauce boss!". But damn it, you give me the willies perched up there!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻…well-done!
It's not comical, your killing it and doing it by yourself. As someone who also DIY's by themselves quite a bit, and did the rafters on my shed by myself I get it. Your persevering and doing a good job at the same time. Your a beauty, keep it up.

I’m so sorry to hear this. You guys are so brave to share this experience. Thank you for being real.
I think youre biggest acheivement on this project at the end will be your excellent project management skills, because I know from experience: forgetting to bring something when you're out in the middle of nowhere can really wreck a perfectly good building weekend. Congratulations on this! @woodnessgoodness!

Great video ! Keep after it.
Great job
Looking great man. Very inspiring.
Your cabin is coming together nicely. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Finally all caught up! Love the back and forth! And the cabin is looking great, keep getting after it!
You need to put up the end wall then the top plates before the roof for support and stability. Right now with the way you're building it a good storm will collapse it to either side.

All 4 walls need to be tied in. You can't do that once the roof is on
You have some extraordinary primate skills good build
Dr. Woodness why not just rent a brush hog attachment for a day for your tractor. Widen the path so you can drive your Jeep and trailer up there. Then when you go to visit/stay you can drive up as well?

I have a 3 and 6 year old, and try doing stupid shit like this all the time too. I quickly realized anything that gets me working quicker and saves energy is worth it. Every min you waste lugging material and tools up is wasted. And wait till you have sheet goods, roofing, etc. Anyhow, keep up the good work, I enjoy watching, and look forward to more.
I like this new guy
Make yourself a couple saw horses. plus I would add some rungs to your scaffold. you will be a little less sore the next day.
I’m digging this series big time. I’ve watched a couple of your vids and wanted to say you’re doing a great job and you’ve earned a new sub! Keep up the awesome work and please be safe up there! I love working alone but sometimes a helping hand is nice too. I’m sure you’ve got friends willing to spend some time out there with ya. Cheers from Ontario.

Cheers thank you!
My 4 year old is very curious to see how you get down from sitting on the top plate - he wants to see the graceful dismount! please .
I guess it all depends on what type of grass you were "mowing". We all make mistakes.thats how you learn. You have the ability to plan. You already made a scaffold.that is planning. If you need to make a list of things that need to be done. Keep up the good work. And be safe...
Where is your double top plate. Please remember to put it on which will help in preventing the wall to sag from the weight of the roof.
Is a 12 : 12 pitch just 45 degrees on the end of the rafter 🤷🏼♂️ (Not a roofing guy but curious)

@@WoodnessGoodness aha me and you both! I once spent over an hour trying to figure out why a set of french doors didn't open after a 10/10 install only to realize there was a shipping screw. Had to re-install X-D

Holy Woodness Ican'tsingness baby!!!! You can climb and build and defy heights buddy. You can carry heavy loads but you couldn't carry a tune if it jumped up on your back and hung on 😂😂. All that talk about pitch for the roof but it was the wrong pitch for the singing ❤❤. You are one brave son of a gun and it is amazing how you do it all by yourself. It is looking great and I can't wait to see what you do next.

12:55 thanks for that. ;)
Gram I think there should be a double plate on top before your rafter I'm not a expert .
"next time" (if there us a next time) ... make a cradle shape to hold the ridge beam in place on the temporary supports. Nevermind. Thats what you jusy did.

Great video, love your content. Got a question for you, why don’t you change one of your vehicles to a 4x4 like a Hilux or similar? They will go easily up the mountain with all your stuff on it.
Lookin good Dr Woodness! Love how you keep talking to yourself, lol! (sidebar: are your workboots Danners? thx!)

I appreciate the crazy you bring to regular old cabin building. 😜. I don't quite understand the 12:12 thing you did isn't it just 45 degrees or does the speed square do some magic?
Graeme, you’ve gotta be careful. You’re scaring me a bit with your scaffolding and climbing around, especially being in the woods alone.

Only issue I can see is later on down the road having those trees so close to the house. I personally would have been inclined to probably have cleared them back 10 feet or so. But that’s just my opinion. Love the build. Pity that the windows wouldn’t fit your a frame but such is life sometimes.

I agree it’s a little risky, but man does it make it feel cozy! I will monitor them closely, they are younger healthy pines so I think it’s ok at this tkme
"but my body!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
You should've left a gap on the bird's mouth to run your sheaving up tp the top of the wall. It would have saved you time time to jigsaw around the rafter tails. But you making good progress for a Canucknuckle head.
