This video is great. The other ones don’t explain the tab on the fuse box. Your video really helped me. Thanks!
Thanks for the tips...Access is VERY tight, but I managed to get in there. I have a RHD 2011 V60 T6, so the glove box is on the left side of the car, access to the filter is simply reversed. I did have to pull one electrical connector to the fusebox to get it out of the way.
Excellent walk through, thank you! And as others have said, thanks for sharing the "secret" tab on the fuse box... that's one that I'd typically end up breaking. Well done, thanks!

Thank you! My car I don’t think I even need to remove the screws on the glovebox or the light. Makes sense they would design it so the mechanic can do it without tools if really need to. Of course the official way is remove the glove box and a million little electrical things.
Just a Reminder to make it easier push the box slightly forward and press the clip down before you pull towards yourself
This was a very helpful video, but it didn't adequately illustrate what an incredible PITA this is. I understand why the owner's manual says have the dealer do it. My 2000 V40 cabin air filter replacement was a 30 second operation. Thanks!
Thanks! Changed mine based on your video. God bless Volvo and how hard everything gies with this car :)
Thanks for this video :). Just bought a cabin air filter for my S60, and I was looking inside the engine bay and wondering, where the heck the cabin air filter place is....
I’m back a year later. Getting my 2015 V60 CC ready to pass down to my son. Took me a little longer this time because I forgot to put the filter cover back on and it’s 90+ degrees out. Thanks again!
Great video and good explanation of the tab on the fuse box. First time I did this I used a write up and didn’t find the tab until After I tried to do it without removing the fuse box. I had the filter half crammed in before finding the tab and probably spent a couple hours on it. Watched this video as a refresher and was done in well under 30 minutes. Bravo!
Your video is useful bro but you should warn others that it's not as easy as it seems, and a yoga session afterward is strongly recommended. I though the French were the worse in locating filters in awkward places but the Swedish are now taking the lead :( Oh gosh, I miss my VW... Anyway best of luck to everyone having an attempt :D Just one last thing, you might find it a little easier to do if you remove the lower panel on the side of the center console, it helped me anyway. Taking the filter out is half a success, now you gotta slide the new one in and that's by far the most awkward thing to do.

Lol yes true
The secret tab is the key to this whole video. You also have to disconnect one connector to that tab as well as pull the trim back. This applies to both lhd and rhd models
That's another great picture! 👍 Good instructional video too. Thx

My 2 cents in that fuse box removal. I couldn't do it with my left hend so I just jumped in driver seat and leaned over console and did it with the first try. Let's hope I won't brake those plastic clips on cover like I did last time. **attention** when putting back the cover remember that that skeleton side should be outside and smooth side goes inside.. If you out it other way like me you will brake off the hinges like I did...

Definitely easier to remove the fuse box and feed in the new filter from the driver’s seat side. Still quite a contortion, but doable. On mine, the previous filter had been facing the wrong way. I ended up removing the cover under the glove box just to align the fuse box when clipping it back into place. Super helpful video- thanks
Its T25, its the only size Volvo use.
That filter is just as important as the engine air filter
Thanks for the video. I always replace my own cabin air filters.( past vehicles) I just haven't done it on my V60 yet. what is that little red button on the firewall?
👍👍👍
I can't find the tab. Is it far back? The fuse box is really hard to pull out
There is a special place in hell for someone who put cabin filter there
I might add that, if I'd of caught your bit on changing the spark plugs (assuming you have one) I wouldn't have broken 2 of the 5 spark plug fasteners ... apparently there's a trick to it not explained in the video done in a speed shop. But I'm sure you'd of covered that.

RHD is different, because there is a long piece of the center console plastic that protrudes past the bottom of the filter door. Anyone know how to do it on RHD vehicles / get past the center console plastic issue?
Please can you tell me where is located the air blower? In my carbis doing a very annoying noise and i think it needs to be replaced

@@BuiltForSpeed not yet, because sounds as a mechanic noise. Mostly when i push the gas from stop position. If i turn off the air, noise dissappears

@@mcbainwolfcastle it could be that there is alot of garbage in the cabin air filter.

@@mcbainwolfcastle i dont you would have to go to your local store and ask them to look it up.
Why has Volvo decided to design replacing air filter with so much hassle? It is mad. Fuse box??!?? Wtf :( Btw you installed a regular filter and the one you removed was carbon activated one I guess. Best regards.

@@VH-eq2ci you just need to remove the lower cover and pop the fuse box off like i showed in video
It's a mofo of a spot. On my car, previous owner broke off the trapdoor too.

This is not the same for RHD vehicles. Eg. Australian delivered

@@denzil6931 I did it with advice from a friend. Can't remember the process but it was very similar to LHD except opposite side and bit more tricky
@firthuk459

@@simonm8586 I agree, RHD is a pain. I went to do this job last night, but on the nearside of the car, the plastic around the center console protrudes much further than on the offside of the car, actually going past and covering the bottom half of the filter "door". In the passenger footwell. Everything else is the same apart from that. I am assuming on a LHD car this plastic is the same - just that it is on the drivers side, where obviously the filter is not.
