Holy #%&#% ! This was a rare diamond! A mixed Gabay/Jiifto with pure Soul style straight out from Harlem . The Homegrown artist Gofaneh choose his own musical path and style.("DHEXDA IYO LAABTA is the only somali Soul/Jazz hit for me). Few were the djiboutians who understood him until the whole band travelled to mother Mogadishu for a show and boom!: from the public to the other Somalian artists, everyone had eyes only for him! He taught a memorable lesson to the young westernized musical bands like Somali Jazz or Iftin Band. One of the Somalian artists came to Salem Zeid (Xanjo-buuf) wondering if Abdo Ismael had came back from the United States. Xanjo-buuf answered : -" the only time he (Gofaneh) took a plane and left Djibouti-City , was a trip to Tadjourah". He will be for ever the first Djiboutian (Somalian?) artist to showcase his talent in One-Man-Show. May Allah bless his soul and open him the gate of the Paradise. Amin.
