I made this today using your/ Brenda Gant recipe. It turne d out great. I would have to tweak it a bit. I will change my topping to unsalted crackers, unsalted butter and cheese. Using the Ritz crackers, salted butter and cheese which also contains salt made it a bit too salty for me not to mention the cabbage and onions underneath had also been seasoned.

I washed the exterior earlier that morning. If you notice at min 2:03, I leave the cutting board and go to sink. At 2:05, I place cabbage back on cutting board. If you look closely you will see water droplets. That is usually enough washing for me. Did you try the recipe? If so, let me know what you think of it because I loved it (but I really like cabbage). Most recipes I see where they cut up the cabbage and then they cut & soak to clean it … then let it sit in a strainer and rinse it out like we would lettuce so my concern was why didn’t u wash it ?? not everybody washes their vegetables or fruit I even clean my can beverage of any sort before I open it you don’t know how many rats ran across that can before shipping.. just saying .. but I just had a question of why you didn’t wash the cabbage “fully” I understand I seen that you rinsed it on the outside but that’s not cleaning the full cabbage that you’re your going to eat so that was just my question I appreciate you answering I have not tried the recipe yet because I was watching it late last night and I have a cabbage and some cheddar cheese and the canned soup and I really just was looking for something different but yummy casserole..😃 ty very much cause I’m vegetarian I love 🥬 cabbage ☝️❤️

Yes, you are correct. I am not Brenda, I am Rhonda @ The Ole Tobacco Patch. I was just trying and sharing her recipe. It is a rich and delicious dish and I have enjoyed several times now ... but I love cabbage any way you prepare it 😉 😉
