Cab Ride on the Indiana Rail Road-Indianapolis to Fruitdale
Enjoy a head end ride on board a train of tank cars on the Indiana Rail Road from Indianapolis to Switz City, Indiana. This is a two part set, and in this volume you'll ride the train from Indianapolis to just south of the settlement of Fruitdale.
We have several cameras on board the locomotives, EMD SD90/43's, and you'll enjoy the ride from a variety of angles. The audio is just as interesting. We carefully placed microphones on the exterior of the units, and you'll enjoy great natural sound as your train roars alone (note, the is no sound from the interior of the locomotive cab).
You'll enjoy the ride on board INRD SD90 #9007 as we travel through urban Indianapolis, then flat farm country, and lastly as we start climbing through the hills of southern Indiana. This line has been called the "H-Dry" for the many bridges it crosses. The further out of Indianapolis we go, the more bridges we will see.

Caught these fine majestic red heavys parked at senate ave on an out of town run to Indy. Had to turn right around as the two engines were just begging for thier pictures to be taken. Very impressive!

Great video! One correction: in Morgantown at 1:36:35 that is Park Street. Sycamore Street (where the ex-Fairland, Franklin & Martinsville once crossed this ex-IC line) is actually the previous grade crossing, at 1:36:00.

What is also funny is seeing these 9043macs snatching this consist effortlessly it looks and sounds like but they retired these monsters and went with my all time favorite locos instead the sd70m’s and first voyage the train stalled lol. Gotta love some DC power 😂 but somehow Union Pacific has been using em forever over donner and tachachpi without any issues so who knows
God himself helped create the audio in the sound booth from most of the EMD prime movers actually but the 710 he started just showing off
If someone could post a cab ride of this length, but through the green mountains of Appalachia, that would be awesome!

There isn’t really a need the only traffic along the line between Indianapolis and Bloomington is the sahw and the HWSA witch is the opposite. It’s only when you get to Bloomington where there is some more action on the line as a as needed rock train comes and the Friday morning HWBOT local goes to Bloomington.

They are available on disc and you can turn the narration off. The moment I would delete this program and upload it without narration, somebody would be upset that their was no narration... If KZread ever offered the option for two different sound tracks I would of course take advantage of it.
