"In 1988, I created the Last Ninja 2 soundtrack for System 3. I started with the Central Park tracks, which was important in order to stamp some sort of 'sound' on the game. It basically took from mid-January until early April to finish. It's about as big a project as you would want to undertake, but everything just seemed to work without any real hitches. I was given a fairly free hand to produce what I thought would be most suitable, and, luckily, every time I took in new tracks for each level, I got the thumbs up. It was a great time for me personally, to suddenly be working full time on C64 music. I was almost 18, but I had no real worries in the world beyond whether I could afford to buy a better car." -- Matt Gray, musician

It was a great time for me personally, to suddenly be working full time on C64 music. I was almost 18, but I had no real worries in the world beyond whether I could afford to buy a better car." -- Matt Gray, musician
Mmhh, I love the graphic, sounds and musics of C=64... they bring me sweet memories of my teenage era!
Ah, happy memories of simpler times. I love the way the Ninja waits patiently at the traffic lights to cross the road.
Well played! ... Great music! ... Great game! ... Time for a reboot!
I love the Music from the first Stage/Level!
Wow man, I have played that game through many times on my C64 back in the day, but I have never seen anybody play it like this! Nice one

Well, who knew throwing stars were part of NY city cop gear? Learn something new every day
I used to load every part of the game from a tape, which took a hell of a time, but I spent very nice time playing this. Thanks for the upload. :)

The tape version is better than disc because of the *awesome* loader music.
Some game for an 8 bit game..the details and shadows so advanced and that soundtrack impeccable.. love it
Amazing graphics!!!
The ninja in the bottom right goes on a blinking frenzy when you win. It's like he's trying to communicate in code.
The anticipation for this game to be released was insane at the time due to how Groundbreaking Last Ninja 1 was.
One of fave games of all time👍.
amazing game and graphics that make C64 look like amiga music is also so good, especially the first part of central park

pyraplastic So true!! ''Let me wiki it''' iis what they say now xD
Great music, really decent animation, and lots of nice work in creating the layouts! I really liked the added touch of having to wait for the crossing light at the curbs to progress... Safety first, even for Ninjas! lol!
Epic game ! the best day of my life is the day when i bought the collectors edition and put on the ninja mask and threw the rubber shuriken in my mates face - the reason to have a 64 -and system 3 are still in the business with a great website !!

I was looking for a copy complete with the mask and shuriken on ebay. Finally found one last month, but it went for £90 !!!
amazing! look at the hairs at 12:44, it's so realistic!
Me and my brother loved this game so much! It was the first game he completed
Yeah¡¡¡¡ Back to 1988 again, I feel like a Kid again ready to take down all the Guards with my Amazing Ninja Weapons and Techniques. Although it was pretty hard sometimes It's my all-time Favourite Video Game
Aki Jarvinen does an awesome metal version of the Central Park theme (the music that played at first)
MASTERPIECE!!!
You are the best Ninja player I have ever seen mate... excellent job! Super Longplay it has to be said!
Let's just say that back then going to the park was anything but a picnic.
best sound in videogame history was before 1990
This game brings back some great memories...

Tell me about it...:)
This is from a machine built in 1982, people. Dang I loved the Last Ninja series, music, graphics, gameplay. It had it all.
Love the game play and the rendering. Pioneer.
I always wondered why random people would attack this poor ninja on sight. And now I still don't know.
MINT true classic... this brings back memories:)
Such a great game though I never managed to complete it. Thanks for uploading!
Great vid. 15 mins?! I remember playing it for hours! For those that love the music, Google "Matt Gray Reformation"
Matt Gray's masterpiece,
My favorite game of the era. But i just now realized that he never kills anyone, but always just knocks them out even with the sword? :D AND waits for the light to turn green. What a gentleman!
Very impressive walkthrough
Omg, the music is outstanding!
O God ! u brouth me back to my childhood ! and U play the game professionally ! thanks.
I love the waiting to cross the street part. NINJAS ALWAYS OBEY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES!
The look and sound of this game are both so solid great. I have to play this at some point, I expect it to take time to beat it, but I definitely will. This game manages to feel like a Shô Kosugi ninja film with all the American city surroundings, especially that bad guy's house / offices area after the underground drug lab.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Revenge of the Ninja.
Much better than the NES version which had "game of the year" on its cartridge. Way more level details, better animation and graphics plus more attacks. Impressive for 1988. Looks like an action platform version of Marble Madness and NBA Live 95-96
Less than 15 min! So great, dude!!! I remember in 5th class (1988) during big break (15 min) I always tried so hard to do it in our school's computer room, but I never made it... That's why I take drugs today, I think.
That ninja fella is very polite, cause he waits the signal, dont step in the grass. LOL
At last it will come modern versions of this classic soundtrack with "lost level" soundtrack with orginal SID made by Matt Gray Kickstarter is the place where to go NOW! (Nov 2014)
looks like a great one. Great graphics for its time and very nice music. This was made in 1988?

Hey! Central Park is my ringtone. I always wait 10 seconds or more to answer :D
You are da man! Unbelievable. I think I never managed to get to the "boss" myself.
Childhood relived :) thanks for the upload! ...haha the bees at 2:37 :)
Great play!
That store with the "DRUGS" sign on it, those damnable pushers aren't even trying to be subtle anymore. Also cops trying to kick you in the nuts for wearing pajamas... CLASSIC FUCKING NEW YORK.
Nice Game play of the last ninja! ^_^
Fucking great music & atmospher game. EPIC !
As an old demo scener as a C64 musician, having 3 channel was quite a feat, still it was fk fun to f*k beat that sound chip.

Pedazo de juego y de música.
My favorite game from the series by far (although I hated the NES version)
