DON’T FORGET THE LOCK TIGHT GUYS! I did this conversion and one of the pins came out while driving. The pin wedged between the caliper screw hole and my wheel spoke, locking the wheel while I was driving. Not only did this cut through the inside of all 5 spokes, but it i was driving on the highway I could have died. These pins do not need to be removed so I used red lock tight.

Great vid. I’d recommend swapping out the ceramic pads for Powerstop Z26 carbon pads. Much better bite than the regular ceramic pads. Also, always bed your brakes. There is a reason the manufacturer of the pads and rotors calls for it. It allows the two surfaces to wear evenly. If you get any shudder in your brakes, re-bed them to remove imperfections.

I'd consider using one-piece pads instead of the 3-piece setup. Hawk, and I'm sure other manufacturers, offers them. They won't taper like the 3-piece setup, and there's a lot more mass to disipate heat.

Just before the 8 Minute mark, why would you put the lubricant on the back of a pad instead of putting it around the lip of the piston? It's clear to see in the video and for the viewers and this flat area that presses against the pad is what should be lubricated. That's the part that rubs against the back of the pad and indiscriminately putting lubricant on the back of the pad is not only a waste of time but if done improperly that's where the "brake squeal" is generated. It can be compared to wetting the finger and rubbing the top of a wine glass and you will find you can go very, very slow and create a big squeal! I'm watching the videos because I too would like to put C6 brakes on my C5, except I will go with carbon ceramic discs and of course overall wheel diameter will need to be increased. Now back to the video!

Typing this comment waisted more time than putting the lube on the back of the pads. Get ready to pay about $8,000 for carbon ceramic brakes.

@@mycorvettelife you missed the point altogether. Most people don't understand that brake squeal is not due to the pad touching the disc! And as for the cost, Tell Me Something I Don't Know!
