The brackets are for the tray that holds the rear window storage.

It’s not too bad. The front is a lot easier, they just plop right in and cut around the bolt holes for the seat and that’s about it. Good luck 👍🏻

The brackets are for a fold down lid where your removable rear windsceen glass goes When you have the tops off and your rear glass comes off as well There are 2 latches on the top inside of your rear glass to release the glass out

I went through the same ordeal, the car was a bare shell when I got it. Pretty much approached all these projects with the “wing it” method. Happy to hear this video helped you out. 👍🏻

Hmmm, didn’t even know they had that. I’ve had 9 or 10 C3’s not a single one has ever had that tray. Thanx! I’ll have to look into it.

This is correct. There’s a tray for the glass when it’s removed from the window hole.

Great video, just did mine and that light is a SOB...even though i had old carpet. One thing i would ad is to precut useing old carpet as template and use some masking tape to mark holes like for the rubber plugs and light screws locations.

Just yesterday we did the back half of a 71 Corvette. By far the worst for us was the wheel wells. Unless you're putting relief cuts in you're going to have lumps and bumps.

The brackets are for the rear glass carrier to store the rear glass when it’s removed it fits in a storage tray out of the way

Looks great. Perhaps spray paint the inside of the storage boxes before laying your last layer of carpet

It’s actually recommended to not glue the carpet in C3s, the carpet was not glued from factory, I can see having to do it over the wheel wells, but the carpet will relax and form where it’s put after a couple weeks

I am doing this exact same thing on a 74 c3 right now. I'll never touch one again. Talk about a pain in the butt!

Indeed it is. Overall the interior of these C3’s is nothing but a pain. Worth it when it’s done tho

You can buy it both ways, the carpet I purchased was just carpet with typical backing and I needed the padding but the more expensive carpet kits will have a rubber backing.

I removed the drain tubes and plugged them off for now, I need to order new tubes and drain vents. But when I do I’ll probably use a small razor like an Exacto knife to cut around them.
