Did you take your outer rocker off to find out you need to replace the lower A pillar too? Here is the video for you.
The goal of the many videos I have posted to KZread is to provide a free, step-by-step guide on how to perform rust repairs on 1967-1972 Chevy truck (specifically, but can be applied to anything). To my knowledge, there are no other video series available that will teach you step-by-step how to do this work. Definitely not that is free.
I have many instructional videos up on my channel on metal work so check those out.
The only thorough instructional videos on cab metal work is a DVD that is SOLD by a user for ~$100 and there are a lot of details and thought processes skipped. If you gained anything from these videos I would greatly appreciate a 'subscription' and a 'like'. After all, its free and your alternative for the only other option (this detailed) is around $100.
Thanks for watching and I hope these videos encourage you to restore that old truck or other classic vehicle.

Thanks!
Just stumbled on your channel. This is helping me a lot. Just a word of advice from a viewer: always start your cut scene with the camera zoomed out and then zoom in on what you’re showing. I keep finding myself a little dizzy and disoriented trying to picture what your showing because your starting so zoomed in it’s hard to get perspective. I keep pulling my head back. 😂like that is gonna help.

Appreciate that
Laser was a great idea. Hard to get a straight line drawn with just a straight edge on that A pillar piece. Sure wish those replacement pieces came with the cab support holes. Would make it a lot easier to get fit.

Yes it would! Thanks for watching - hope these help.
Can you tell me by chance, the distance from the bottom of the door hinge to the bottom of the "A" pillar? I cut min off right below where the door hinge is and need to know how long it should be.

Are you in the FB group '67-72 Chevy Truck Restoration Group'? It would be easier with pictures on that. The bottom pillar on aftermarket stamps is slightly different from memory. Id suggest measuring down to the 45 angle on the leading corner.
I have a 1968 that needs rockers, cab corner, cab support, and bottom of the A pillar. What is the proper order to follow to replace those parts?

Cab support, remove outer rocker, replace inner/a pillar, cab corner/b piller and then outer rocker

@@thetoolbandit No problem. Maybe I should do an overview video with that step by step. I see that question a lot. I have each in depth video and kind of show the order partially in the videos but a recap video might help.

Yeah thats actually an old HD bearing changing table i took the presses off of and added legs to. I want a heavy plate table and a nice vice, thats the biggest problem I have is I need my vice mounted to something heavy. Just making it work till I have the $ to expand..
Waiting for approval on your Facebook page. Had a question. I’m replacing complete floor panel. Also replacing corners, kick plates, and pillars. In what order would you do it? Is there any easy response to the question?

Where are the holes for the bolts? If you drill them afterwards, you will damage the thread

New patch panels do not have capture nuts welded to the inside so you have to use nuts/bolts, which I tack welded in place before installing outer rockers.
